Anyone else think the in-game audio could use an update?

The audio in this game needs an overhaul. I'm talking some kind of announcer (AI or even just a regular computer voice). I realize there is the TTS which is pretty horrible/slow. The sound files are still the same from OOTP 5. A more refined batter/pitcher announcement would be great. Action PC Baseball has a basic narrator voice which works wonderfully. Plenty of options on how much you can use it (play synopses, entire play by play, just player/pitcher intros, ad player number, position). real cool stuff that makes playing games that much more fun. You can even translate the name pronunciation for any player if the game gets it wrong.

Anyway, I think the audio is crazy outdated and can use an upgrade

Since my wife is blind and listens to every game of her team, I have been pushing for this since the time we started playing (OOTP 14, I think). I've kind of given up on this happening in my lifetime. Heck, at this point I'd be happy just to not hear "poo-tout" in every game.

Microsoft includes a Natural voice called Microsoft Guy in Windows. It is definitely better than the old voices. Unfortunately, OOTP doesn't (or can't) use it. Maybe Matt can work his magic to enable it in the game.

I use TTS and the short(or whatever the setting is below full?) pbp. With my settings the timing of it is pretty good. It's adequate and I couldn't play without it, but an upgrade would be great quality of life addition.

I don't use the speech but everytime I get to the 7th inning, the stadium sound craps out. I still get the bat sound and umps calls. Then next inning it comes back. What is weird is in the few game crashes I get it's right around the same time. So everytime the sound craps out, I expect the game to crash. Gives me the heebie- jeebies.

I'd like improved sound files and any options to aid in PBP. Thanks for bringing up the subject.

Absolutely ! would add greatly to the great immersion experience that OOTP already provides.

OMG YES. Still don't get why i can't sim a days games, pick a game, and listen to the game. I would do this daily for sure

Yes. I have noticed this on my MacBook that near the beginning of the 7th inning the background noise gets muffled for about a half inning.

they have add on for audios in a different folder. Never done it as i do not want to mess up game not knowing how to add it to the solo

APBA Baseball for Windows w/ Ernie Harwell was my initiation into sim sports. This would be the game-changing feature, much more than any visual improvements. Dr. Dynastic does a great job calling games on Twitch, and if they ever go down this road he'd be a fantastic choice.
