Leagues with the Best Financial Systems

What online leagues (name abbreviation and link please) do you feel have the best financial systems? If you would like to leave a brief explanation why you feel it works so well, please do so.

One of my leagues is having a debate over how best to fix ours and I would like to take a look at some other leagues that feel their system works so I can see what are some things that we can do.

I wouldn't mind seeing them either, considering what kq is talking about directly affects me.

If you check this thread http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=34101 you'll find a very large listing of online leagues, complete with links. A quick read of league rules/constitutions should net you a good idea of the various financial systems in use.

Further studying of the indiviual leagues teams should give you a good idea if they have a lot of teams in financial difficulty, or if they have good stability.

From this, you should be able to deduce whether or not the financial system in use is a good one.

Hope this is of some help to you.

You might want to talk with the commish of the JOBL (link in my sig). He's been working on some merchandising/broadcasting ideas that I think are going to be implemented next season. I'm sure we'll update the whole community about how it goes in a couple of seasons.

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you had in mind, but http://www.mbl2.com uses a spreadsheet format seperate from OOTP5. Look under "Financial Pages."

Shiba (real player historical league currently in 1950's) uses a spreadsheet to calculate contract extensions based on ratings, age and length of contract. Works really well. See the league link in my sig to check out the spreadsheet.

The key to having good financials is to take that part completely out of the hands of OOTP...

or leave it in the hands of OOTP, but make sure that all teams begin on equal financial footing.

Just to clarify, the problem is there is no incentive for owners to be fiscally responsible and so they "go for it" and then if they don't do well that year they leave with the team in financial disarray. I believe that it would be best to have incentives for both objectives, winning and making money, but it appears to be difficult as those objectives sometimes conflict with each other. Has anyone found a way to provide incentives for both of these objectives at the same time?

(And in case any UBL GMs are reading this, I did not start this thread in regards to the recent FA thread in the UBL. Though I'm worried about the UBL's finances (at least for the short term), my impetus for starting the thread was not the UBL.)

Well said. I really like this game, but the financial system is godawful.
