Question about stat% distribution please?

Hey guys,
I hope I ask this right where it makes sense. I'm starting a league with stats only and erased all past career stats of all players, I have selected none ratings or stars to show at all.
Sooooo, what should I set the stat percentage at? I mean, since I'm starting with all history gone, would I set the current year at 100%? Orrrrrr, even though I have erased all career stats, does the game still "know" the past stats so I should still split up the percentages between current year, last year and 2 years ago?
I hope I'm being clear, I feel like I'm not saying it right Any tips I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I have absolutely no idea what you are asking about. The only thing I can think of is the settings for the AI evaluation but there's no need for that when playing stats only since those settings are only applicable to the overall stars as far as I know.

first, i've never done stats only.

i assume you are talking of ai evaluation based on what you are describing.

since you chose to not show ratings or overall ratings, it won't matter. you cannot see the effect. i'd recommend turning 'ai evaluation' off in this context. no need to run that math(possibly), if you cannot see it.

erasing historical stats won't change the player's ability. no worries. even though you can only see stats, the ratings still exist and evolve in the background in the same exact way whether visible or not.

I have played stats only since OOTP13. I set rating weight at 35%, current year at 35%, last year at 20%, and two years ago at 10%. I have experimented with other settings, but found these settings to be the sweet spot.

The game knows the ratings, but you won't. You can search for stats only in the forum, as this convo has come up a lot in the past and you'll get way more extensive posts on strategies because there's no "one way" to do it.

I play 45/10/30/10 right now, but might modify that.

I don't understand. Aren't those only used for determining the overall star rating and if you are playing "stats only" don't you have those turned off?

No. I believe these settings are used by the ai for all aspects of the game, setting lineups, signing free agents, roster moves. I thought because I was playing stats only I should set ratings weight to 0%. But when I did this the ai started signing mediocre players to huge long term contracts. But when I let the ai look at the ratings again, the free agent signings became a lot more realistic.

Ok that makes sense. I guess i just assumed that when people said they played "stats only" that it also made the AI use only stats as well.
