Thumbs up Public Beta of OOTP version 9.2.10 released!

Hey guys

We have just uploaded the public beta version of the new patch, version 9.2.10... you can find the updated executable files here:

PC: http://www.ootpsupport.com/asdgfdg97...ootp9210pc.zip
Mac: http://www.ootpsupport.com/asdgfdg97...210mac.app.zip
Linux: http://www.ootpsupport.com/asdgfdg97...0-linux.tar.gz

Please extract them to your OOTP 9 program folder, for example C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP 9.

For those of you who want to use the updated english.xml:
http://www.ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/ootp_text.zip

And for those who just want to easily install the full setup file instead of copying files manually, here's the full setup file for PC / Windows:
http://www.ootpsupport.com/asdgfdg97...ootp9setup.exe

And this is the full setup file for Linux:
http://www.ootpsupport.com/asdgfdg97...install.tar.gz

... and here's the full setup file for the Mac:
http://www.ootpsupport.com/asdgfdg97...macinstall.zip

If there aren't any problems, then we'll make this patch the final build of OOTP 9, and announce it along with a special offer in a newsletter over the weekend.

Here's what has been fixed/added:
- Added pitcher & batter pictures to the webcast in-game screen
- Added a "First-Year Player Draft Order" tab to the league transaction screen
- Increased the number of utility-players created, meaning guys that play multiple defensive positions
- Fixed uniform numbers changing without reason
- Fixed online league security issues

Please note: If you're the commish of an online league and use this version, then all league members have to use it as well. 9.2.10 is not compatible to previous versions in online leagues!

Cheers,
Markus

Markus, will the updated english.xml be made available seperately as well?

A little confused on this one, Markus. Why couldn't the english.xml file simply be zipped into the same archive that contains the .exe file rather than having to download the full setup to obtain it?

And thanks for the patch. We appreciate your constant attention to your product.

Out of interest (not that it affects me), it might be worthwhile getting this to Steam sooner than this weekend as it might take them a few days to get it through to users.

Thanks for the update. This will tide us over until version 10 arrives in the spring.

9.2.10? Is this an old patch or a new one? If it's new, and it's not 9.2.9, shouldn't it be 9.3.0?

Build numbers don't work like that.

Also a very very good point....the first number is the Version, the 2nd number is for a major build change and the third number is for a minor build change...IIRC.

Ok, will the full ootp9setup.exe work for Mac owners who don't want to do the manual file install?

In the webcast screen, I have noticed player's name often overlaped lower side of weather report (please see the attached picture). Marcus, if possible, could you solve this problem? Thanks!

So you submit the next patch. I think the question should more be: what if this does end up being the final patch and instead of submitting it now we made people wait a few more days? It'd be especially troublesome for those who can't get 9.2.7 to work (like myself, although I don't use steam). It's not like there's some sort of penalty for submitting patches to steam is there?

What is this 9.2.7 I keep hearing about??? I thought I'd done a good job of keeping up with the patches but mine still says 9.2.2. Is there a secret patch out there somewhere???

Any word on if this was a user/system specific matter or are others seeing this problem as well?

Just downloaded 9.2.10 and installed. When I start OOTP 9, at the home page in the bottom left corner it indicates version 9.2.2. Should it not be version 9.2.10?
As well, I checked for an update within the game and it indicates that I have the latest version. I am confused.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

By the way, I did a full uninstall and a new install using 9.2.10 (236 MB).
