Care to explain evolution or did God take care of that too?

From what I've learned, God set that in motion.
You can't be serious?????? Either God created man or man evolved from apes, you can't have it both ways. Or perhaps God created apes to slowly morph into something in his image? You don't even have a point worth debating, just 4 word answers to a serious question. When you're old enough to get a drivers license, maybe you'll start thinking for yourself.

Cheers

I'll say this about Ichiro. He's a very good player and a star, maybe a superstar. Although, if I was the M's I'd be hesitant to give him a long term deal when his is up (end of next year????)

He keeps himself in phenomenal shape but once he loses his speed he'll be hitting .280 with no walks or power. In other words, a replacement level player. Of course, that is not to take away from what he has accomplished so far in a strange land, and learning the league and the pitchers on the fly so to speak.

Cheers

Rich

I already have my driver's license. God created the conditions possible so life could exist, maybe he knew humans would eventually come, maybe not. I don't have all the answers.

Which only emphasises the fact that he was the most valuable out of the bunch. OPS weighs walks and home run hitting...two things that aren't in Ichiro's job description. He wears out pitchers and rarely walks or strikes out. His game is all about contact and making something happen. Comparing him to Giambi or Hunter in one statistical category isn't going to change that he was the player of the game more often than not in a season where his team won 116 games.

I know that he is very good, and probably the best player on seattle last year, but I just don't think that he was worthy of the MVP.

Just found this on the internet. I thought someone might find it interesting.
The only thing I find it is silly.

If you believe, and god doesn't exist, you've based your life on a lie only to be disappointed in the end. If you don't believe, and god doesn't exist, you've based your life on truth and lived for you, not a fictitious puppet in the sky.

See...the "wager" works both ways.

Another example of the farce that is god.

Oh, shut up, all of you.

You can't debate religion. It's a faith issue, which means that there is NO WAY to prove or disprove any of the issure you're discussing.

I'm just mad that this discussion apparently bailed out M&G.

He can't explain GForce, he's just spewing the lines his Sunday school teacher jammed into his head.

God is not bounded by time. He can see the future, the past, and the present. He created the conditions for life that would eventually turn into man as we know it today.

the first half of this makes no sense and is irrelevant. The second half goes against the belief that god created man in his image...evolution goes against that, so it's one or the other.

Why don't you explain why you think evolution isn't true?

Oh, I forgot, you can't explain things. Sorry for asking.

PS: I'll shut up if you surprise me by actually explaining your view.

While i appriciate your coming to realize that you are wrong in your own way MaGfan just two mistakes that were too glaring too miss, The Durham Bulls are AAA not AA as you claim the D-Rays AA team is the Orlando Rays of the Southern League and in Major League the Indians did not win it all, only the AL East. Also the Twins are a great team with a lot of talent who can give anyone in baseball a run for there money because of there pitching and defense.

since no one else knows how to do it:

Religion is based on beliefs. If you believe in no god, then good for you. You are entitled to your opinion and beliefs. If you believe in God or gods, then good for you. You are entitled to your opinion and beliefs.

Arguin who is right is why the world is the way it is. Its not b/c of religion, its b/c of the disagreements between religious faiths. That includes those that do not believe in a god.

To answer the God, evolution question. I ask this, why cant both exist?

According to the Bible, God is never described in full detail. It only mentions that he walks among us and is the FIGURE of a man.

Arguin that evolution and religion can not exist is pathetic, b/c they can.

We were created in God's likeness. Whether or not you believe in God, all i ask is that you understand that belief. not accept it, just understand that Catholics agree in that belief. ok?

Now I ask, what is God's likeness? If your answer is the way we look, then you have been living a lie your whole life. Likeness in the Bible does not necessarily have to relate to physical likeness, it could relate to moral likeness. ever thought of that?

That being said, God has no physical feature. He is what we hope for him to be. If you can just accept that Catholics agree that God is all knowing and all powerful, then you should accept that God is everything and anything. Giving him a physical likeness was created by mainstream media to give non-followers and those with little faith a concrete image of God. Facts prove that its easier to accept someone if you can place a face with that being.

Am I asking you to believe in God? yes and no. It would be a sin for me to not spread the word, but i'm also not about forcing an issue. Faith is something you must learn to accept for yourself. I am 20 years old and think for myself. I have chosen my faith.

Evolution can exist with God. Why isnt it possible? God created, man evolved. simple. Stop tryin to make a simple solution more difficult than it is.

Take your beliefs and be proud of them, whether it be to love God or not.

As SoxWin proclaimed (no matter where it came from):

Treat others the way you want to be treated

that is the Golden Rule, it applies to everyone, no matter the religious beliefs. Follow that rule and you would have lived a good life.

I'm completely with SoxWin on this one. The best way to live your life is to treat others with respect and do good things for people. All throughout history, various cultures have used the notion of a "God" to justify anything they couldn't understand, and it works much the same way today. The Bible hardly offers enough proof of anything - many other religions have sacred texts (with opposite views) that are believed to be 100% correct.

You're free to believe in your own idea of a God, but when wars start taking place (just look at Israel vs. Palestine) over it, then you have to start thinking religion is more of a negative for society as a whole than a positive.
