Oh, RANZBA is an OOTP baseball league set in Australia and New Zealand. Now I get it.

If you thought trying to find Australian Rules football on TV was tough, you should try looking for Pesapallo. I can't even find a You Tube video of a single game, but it sounds so much more interesting than baseball. Imagine baseball with nearly every pitch put in play, and no chance for the pitcher to get hit in the head by a screaming line drive.

As far as I'm concerned the Orcin League championship has already been won.

Well, it's been an entertaining day, but down 3-1, looks like y'all gonna win.
Congrats to Collingwood, with the state of my staff, I'll be lucky to win one more, let alone 3 straight. Somehow I don't think I've even got the 1/8 chance of winning 3 coin flips. I should've dumped Feller and Ryan for the Final Series... They got me there against Bob's Burgers. Seattle was a similar team so I kept them. Collingwood was only slightly similar (lots of hits and lesser HR), but that little bit tempted me to ignore the better Eyes on Collingwood and the power that wasn't non-existent and keep them. When Feller got shelled in Game 1, I realized I had two pitchers on the staff that weren't going to get it done, and it's hard to change horses mid-stream. That said, I really didn't have the reserves to counter a high CON EYE medium POW team, so I'd have probably lost anyway. Well balanced team, Collingwood! Congrats! And as my Aussie mate says, "Go 'Pies!" |

Thanks to the majority for the friendliness and some of the affirming "Thanks" on my posts. Wish I had found the thread sooner in the week, as y'all are a good group, with well-managed teams, and fun to chat with.
I'd join for that reason even more than the challenge, and then regret it because I'd have to spend waaaaaay more time than I have available in order to compete. |

I should have tried Koufax in game 5 and saved Mathewson and Johnson for home field advantage. They have very good home records. Mathewson, in particular, 15-1 at home, but now Mathewson is wasted. On the other hand, Koufax has been awful on the road, 1-7 and 8.15 ERA. Let's see who can be Mr. November.

I was stunned that you didn't light up Seaver. He probably shouldn't have stayed on my roster either, but it turned out to be the right call to replace Feller with him. Maybe just the right balance for the balance you have...
Hope I can take you 7 for that Walter-Walter rematch. And that I don't lose Game 7 due to Terrance Gore. (Though even I would find that hilarious.) |

Posting about Nap Lajoie being on the block must have inspired him as he was named Perfect League Series MVP. While, Cy Young pitched well to win the decisive game. 220K well spent?
I now let's have a rendition of my team theme song. |

Well, not to be.
From a 3-13 start to G6 on Nov 1, I'll take that any time even with an "unfair" advantage. (I would argue that my lack of knowledge as to what was happening to my team in regards to what sort of league I was in was a very good balancing disadvantage and point to having only the 8th best record in the regular season as evidence.) There are a handful of teams in the Perfect Level that are stacked way more than mine and are harder to beat than the best teams in this league, but not many. For me, it's more fun to try to knock those guys off. Less work, more pride in being the underdog (like you all had against me), so I look forward to getting back to that. But I wish you all well, and I'll keep a closer eye on your threads. Post standings once a day or so, so that non-league-members can follow along. :-) |

"Good old Collingwood forever, they know how to play the game! Side by side they stick together, to uphold the Magpie name! See the barristers are shouting, as all barristers should. For the premiership's a cakewalk for the good ol' Collingwood!" Told you I'm a huge 'Pies fan. Congrats! P.S. for the record, I've never spent that many points on any of my players though one or two may cost that much now. You probably could have kept to your league cap and still beat me which would have been a better story. ![]() ![]() Edit: Oops Barrackers, not barristers, I always get that wrong, having not heard of barrackers before this song, my mind wants to substitute a more familiar word! I did keep to the league cap! In fact, putting in Gore, I went down to 49. I wonder if that card will get a Perfect League Championship button with no stats.

As for Lajoie I pulled him early from a pack on my other Perfect Level team, and have always wanted him on this team, but never seen him on the AH at a price I could afford at the time, despite keeping an eye out for him.
Sadly he will be leaving my other team. It is transitioning from the American Angels to the California Angels. Minimum 13 players with Angel connections and the rest must be American born. I thought that would be a challenging restriction given the current state of MLB, but since PT success is based mostly on non-Live cards from the past it didn't turn out to be that challenging after all. So transitioning to the non-Angel requirement of being born or having played a season for a California based team for the last 12 players on the roster. Sale and Lajoie were the last to get moved off the Active Roster, and it cost me in the playoffs this season. I think I can still win a PL title with the 13 Angel-connected players and 12 California-connected players I have left, but it will be harder. What's 98 Lajoie going for these days? I assumed Young was the 220K you were referring to, or was that Lajoie? I haven't seen him on the market in a long time. |

It was an honor to play against you, probably an honor that should have gone to Bob's or someone else, but I'm delighted to lose to Collingwood. and that you built a good team for their proud tradition! |

I paid 100K for Young and 120K for LaJoie 98. I bought them both on the same day, story earlier in the thread. Both were well below last 5, but prices are dropping all around with no buyers.
Do you have the 98 or the 94? The 94 is cheaper. |
