Hate for what they did against teams I root for: John Elway, Steve Garvey, Bill Walton, Hillary Clinton.

Hate for what they did off the field: Bill Romanowski, Pete Rose, O. J. Simpson.

Non-players I hate: George Steinbrenner, Scott Boras, Bud Selig, Don Fehr.

MLB
Reggie Jackson
Bucky Dent (how did he not get mentioned yet?)

NFL
"Hollywood" Henderson
Tony Dorsett
I think I hated all those Cowboys...

NBA
John Starks
Bill Laimbeer

NHL
Brett Hull
Billy Smith

and Bill Walton is the only announcer I would say I actually hate. Listening to him broadcast the Arizona Final Four run with his kid on the team was the worst.

As a Knicks Fan also, why Starks and not the fact that Ewing was hurt?

That was my beef about those finals...I thought the Knicks lost when that happened, so maybe I was oblivious to the play on the court.

Wrong finals d00d. Ewing was hurt for the Spurs finals, but not the Rockets.

Maybe you are thinking of the player formerly known as Chris Jackson who changed his name to Mahmoud Abul-something or other. He had OCD.

Yes, you're right it was Jackson. Was about the only excuse for Starks being Starks that I could think of.

IMO he was the most over rated player in College Basketball over the last 10 years, the guy never did anything and all people talked about was how great he was. That National Championship was more a credit to Izzo, Mo Pete and Andre Hutson then it was to Cleaves who got all the credit and attention when there were much better guards in the Big 10 let alone on a national level, he just got on my nerves lol

Damn you are right, my mind is elsewhere these last two days

Starks, clang, Rockets

For some reason I still don't hate him as much as the drafting of Ward

That reminds me of one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV. I don't recall his actual shooting percentage that night, I believe he was 2 for 18 or something along those lines so I'm sure I'll screw this story up by not knowing the EXACT ratio but anyways.....

The opening day of the next season at the Garden (I forget who they were playing, maybe the Hawks?) I'm watching on TNT and the National Anthem is playing and right in the middle of the anthem someone screams at the top of their lungs "HEY STARKS 2 FOR 18!!!!!!" and the place just lost it lol. Everyone started laughing or cheering right in the middle of the anthem and though I thought it was pretty disrespectful of the anthem I also thought it was hilarious. I guess that was really the only time that guy could have been able to yell it for everyone to hear so I cut him a break lol.

re: Tourette's Syndrome, that was Jim Eisenreich from baseball who had that.

Just felt like I should add a couple folks:

Pete Rose - duh. Actually, I hate the guy for playing his crappy ass for 3 years because he was his own manager. It's not like the Reds were loaded with talent at first base at the time, but still.

And the Ray Fosse thing.

Philadelphia football fans - For cheering when Michael Irvin almost died. Truly a low point in sports history.

Doug Flutie - You know, I always want to like this guy when I see him in interviews and what have you, but then when I see him play, I'm just like "AAAAAAARGH RUN TOWARDS THE GOD DAMN LINE OF SCRIMMAGE NOT AWAY FROM IT!"

ugh, SOOO misunderstood, half the things philly fans get blamed for is either a myth or blown out of proportion. But I'll stop before I go on the same rant I've went on about 6 times on this board lol

I don't think so. I've lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Dallas. By far the harshest fans were in Philly. Its not even a contest. And my god, their talk radio was tough to listen to sometimes. Fans let their emotions override common sense all the time. It was a real rollercoaster with them. One week Ty Detmer was god and everyone wanted his jersey, the next week they wanted to run him out on a rail. Fans from other cities would have seen that he wasn't as good as he looked when he first played.
