I have the cheaper 74 Ozzie with costs about 1500. The other one (78 I think) is the expensive one because it has better ratings for defense. This one is still pretty good though, and I need to have 24 more players. The 74 Ozzie was a huge offensive upgrade over the 60 Marty Marion that I was using through gold level. Yeah, 250 points will help with tomorrow's lottery ticket err... pack. The amazing thing is that, at 22-25, I am only 5 games out of first place. |

How is Musial doing for that team? Is he among the league leaders in any categories?
The game you broke out of the slump, my Barker threw a Maddux and a corner painter and got me 480. I immediately went and bought my lottery ticket, crossed my fingers, and pulled 5 irons (2 of them didn't even have faces lol) and a 63 RP. Oh well....someday I'll get that perfect Nap Lajoie. |

He has a .355/.385/.497 slash line and is #3 in batting avg. The rest of the team isn't doing much and my 18-26 record puts me #5 from the bottom. Ironically, that's exactly where I finished last year. It's sorta like being the worst NBA team outside the lottery.

It's good to see his stats in your league mimick real life since he was one of the greatest do-everything hitters
![]() Your Cards team sounds like my Indians team here. I'm equally close to the wildcard as I am relegation. If only these guys would hit. |

I noticed the all star game is today at 8pm. I'm thinking I'll probably get Barker and possibly Uhle. How about your team? Well besides Sisler the triple crown candidate. That one's obvious. Who else might get a nod from your team?

Edit: How could I forget, but Kevin Brown is now 10-4 with a 3.15 ERA. As much as I complain about it, my bullpen has a couple of players in the top vote getters: Eckersley (2.36 ERA, 19 SV #2 in AC) and Dierker (24 IP, 1.88 ERA). I think catcher Earl Battey should make it also (.330/.371/514), but he has been platooning for most of the season and has only played in about half of the games. That could hurt his chances. He only has a .613 OPS vs. RHP. The LH platoon half (85 Berra) is worse (.488 OPS) vs RHP believe it or not, so I am looking for a better catcher that bats left. VERY hard to find unless you want to forego defense entirely (which I don't). I am looking for McCarver but he hasn't come up for a decent price in quite a while. My other option is to get a defensive backup and play Battey full-time but that doesn't thrill me either. I had 94 Bench for two years and decided that I could get crappy offense for much less money. I would really like to at least get a 100 OPS+ out of the position via platooning. Last edited by Orcin; 01-16-2019 at 04:29 PM. |

I could see you getting 5 all stars, especially with the smaller league. I'm really impressed with your Sisler so far too. Not trying to jinx him, but I wonder what the points are for a triple crown? MVP is either 400 or 500 I can't remember.
You're still in the playoff hunt! I'm fading quickly lol |

I'm shocked with the all star selections. I got Boudreau and Fosse. Barker got snubbed. You got Dierker and Sisler. Eckersley and Brown got snubbed.
Obviously the fans don't know what they're doing lol |

Nashville Expos 18-7 in June
What's happening everyone...crazy that making it 3 weeks in Perfect Level landed us in the strangest 22 team league I've ever seen.
It will be very interesting to see how the playoffs shake out. Does anyone have other teams they created? I got an all Kansas City team (Monarchs/A's/Royals) climbing up from Silver now (leading division) and just created an all defensive team Nashville Sounds. Wish everyone the best of Luck for the remainder of the season! - Branchricky22/Branchrickey/Branchricky Last edited by BranchRicky22; 01-17-2019 at 02:00 AM. |

My Indians are fighting off relegation in the NL so I could use some of that luck. I like your Shoeless Joe card. He seems to be playing well for you too. If they ever make an Indians Shoeless card, I'd love to put him on my team. He had some good years in Cleveland. Anyways, I look forward to watching your Expos battle Orcin's Colonels the rest of the way

Shoeless Joe
Quote:
I would love to see a Cleveland Naps Shoeless Joe Jackson. He had one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time in 1911 when he hit .408/.468/.590 good for 9.3 WAR, following that up with a sophomore season of .395/.458/..579 good for 9.1 WAR. I'm not sure anyone else in baseball's history started their careers off better than Shoeless Joe. There is a reason one of the greatest hitters of all time (Babe Ruth) mimicked his swing. To boot, Ty Cobb and Joe Jackson were great friends imagine those country hicks talking hitting, two of the greatest of all time. |

What's interesting is the Tigers tried to trade Cobb to the Indians for Elmer Flick in 1908. Cobb and Jackson could've been teammates but the Indians turned it down

Yes! One of the very few bright moments for Point Loma this year. Las Vegas has been pummeling me all year.....

Nashville gets a no-hitter from Hershiser... nice!
I decided that I had a shot at this so I went out and got the 94 Greg Maddux to boost my rotation for the stretch drive. I overpaid but I think this card is on the way up and I haven't seen one for days. He better be worth it! |

I was just looking at your team and you have the best batting average in your league AND the number 2 bullpen era!!! Your bullpen turned it around for sure. Nice!
Who did you kick out of your rotation to make room for Maddux? |
