Srsly, can you see what file it says that it's loading when the thing crashes? If it's doing *that* and getting progressively *worse*, it kind of sounds like a hardware issue...

I get that error on win 7 and my games run fine including potpourri 10,11 and 12 so I four that's the issue.

U can create a new league and progress part way by simming a few month here and there and sim
Day by day and see if u get the error if u do its not ur league but if u don't then its ur league and u might beable to use the purge tool. And atleast u would be able to narrow it down a bit

I had him to use the Purge Tool and the problem still lingers. I have since had him to generate us a Trace File and FTP his league file for Andreas to look over. Now we have a new problem. He can't find that trace file.

Step by step, let's first check whether it's a problem with the computer setup or with the league files:
tejdog, please create a new league and let it simulate for a few years (make yourself a commish and disable all notifications that makes it easier). Save it, load it, sim again - does that work?

If it crashes, enable trace mode in the preferrences dialog/troubleshooting and run the game until it crashes again, then post the trace file.

I had a power outage and my game had the same crashing message that you displayed tejdog1.

I re-reinstalled the game on a different HD (I have 4 of them on my computer) then I copied the entire folder of my league from the old setup in the proper area of the new install and all worked fine after that.

once he tries a new league and sees if it does it there he would know if its the league files or the game and if game then i would suggest un license and complete uninstall compete after he moves the saved games from the saved games folder .and by complete i mean after the uninstall go and clean up the files ootp leaves behind and delete them to . then just reinstall on the same HD and move those saved games back over to the saved games folder and have at it . and of course do what Andreas Raht said first cuz hes the expert here then id try the way i suggested after u get that trace file and it gets looked at . just my opinion

I started up a new test league, then simmed 5 years, saved, and then have simmed another 2.5 years.

I'm pretty sure it's the league that's corrupt.

Sounds like it well maybe doing a trace file for Andreas might help u maybe he can pinpoint the issue an and maybe just maybe help u to get it fixed so u dont lose ur league

Two ways to find it if you have done it right

go ingame then click OOTP tab then preference then trouble shooting then open the trace and save somewhere else or
goto the ootp 12 folder in ur documents and click the folder debug and a file will be there called ootp_trace.txt

if you try to open the trace file and the game tells u cant find it or u go to the ootp 12 folder and the debug folder and the trace file that goes inside is not there then you didn't debug it correctly

Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to fix a corrupt league file
Nevertheless, please create a trace. The required features are in preferences dialog/troubleshooting tab. First activate "write debug info to file" then run the game until it crashes. Leave it closed and look for the file ootp_trace.txt in the OOTP /debug folder which is usually in "My Documents"/OOTP Developments/OOTP 12.

OK, I got a trace file, I was in commish mode, trying to reduce all the playoff teams rosters back down to 26 so I could hopefully continue on with the playoffs.
