Possibly dumb question

I am about to purchase OOTP 25 but I have a pevious year installed on my computer already, If I get OOTP 25 does it overwrite the previous year or do I have both?
I don't want to lose the stats and storylines I have going from the older game but I do want to upgrade to 25 so can I have both at the same time?

OOTP 25 will install as a separate program.

Not a dumb question. My second year with OOTP, I had no idea what to expect. LOL. You can definitely have both OOTP 24 and 25. And, you have the option of importing sim files from 24 to 25 (this is much easier on a PC than on a Mac; but either is doable, and I - no techie - have done each). For reasons discussed in these forums, best not to import during a season; better in the offseason. I've been around since 21, and still have seasons on that version. For the most part, I have imported ongoing sims from 21 to 22 to 23 to 24 and now to 25, to take advantage of all the amazing improvements, across the board, each year. Others are more cautious, and have doubts about the changes. YMMV.

Yeah it’ll just install as a brand new program and all that. If you ever skip a version for whatever reason you’ll even need to (temporarily) install the skipped version if you want to import a save from, say, 23 to 25 (you have to jump through 24 first).
