If OOTP had the HH interface it would be superior to everything. Things I'd like to see:
* Make the transaction screen similar to HH, where only 2 levels are show, but stats take up the rest of the room. * In league standings have the ability to change the year from the screen rather then scroll though the league history. * A "reccomend" button in the trading system. * And MOST IMPORTANTLY, minor league career stats. |

High Heat costs the same as OOTP4 and High Heat has major leagues rosters.
Maybe OOPT4 makers can contact High Heat and combine forces to create the Ultimate baseball game! |

The last thing I'd like to see would be Markus giving up control of the project. Even if you collaborate with someone you give up some measure of control.
Example: Front Office Football, EA Sports got Jim on board, produced one decent but buggy game, refused to allow any patches (from Jim and didn't release any themselves), and essentially killed off the franchise, releasing the typical EA Sports roster patch as a new version this year. There is still much room for improvement with OOTP and I'd rather see someone with as good a track record for support and improving the game as Markus remain in control of the project rather than letting a faceless company like 3DO or EA get their hands on it. Edit - It should be noted that I am by NO means an expert on the entire EA/FOF situation, that is just my general impression of how that went down. Just caues it costs the same doesn't make it a good game. High Heat is bad, crashes way too often and isn't worth more than a coaster to set my drinks on. Maybe the charge the same cause nobody would want to pay more than that for an awful game the last couple of years. I was a loyal HH'er, but now, I don't waste my time.

My Top 10 Guesses for what the big announcement is...
10. There's a cheat code in OOTP4 to allow you to play in "big head" mode 9. All OOTP4 beta testers are being sent a lovely Merlin Olsen "Thank You" bouquet. 8. All Smiley Faces will be removed from this board because they make us look too effeminate. 7. Ruben Rivera stole all of Markus's source code and sold it on e-bay. 6. Blind Jerry is neither blind, nor named Jerry. 5. Markus is really that smart guy who wrote Linux. 4. Steve invented the internet with Al Gore. 3. Draft Dodger has been invited to join the OOL. 2. ViaTech has sold all of our credit card numbers to some guy in the Bronx named "Bruno". 1. Shakira is going to become the official spokesperson for OOTP5.

Just an FYI, HH2003 for PC is $49.99 on ebgames.com --------------- [quote] OOTP4 is awesome at running a ballclub, financialy, very poor at developing players and building from within.<hr></blockquote> I've found it to be just the opposite - if I wanted to be nitpicky, I could find some inaccuracies w/ the financial part, but the developing players is stellar, imo. Unless you're the Yankees, Mets, Braves, Dodgers, Orioles, you almost have to develop from within. Just my 2 cents, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Also, now that I've gone fictional, I don't know if I can ever go back. I've shed my bias'es and am managing a much smarter team now. |

Mike D - HOw long ago have you played High Heat baseball? It is the BEST graphical baseball ever to come out for the PC since front page sports baseball!
High Heat has everything except the financial model of OOTP4. Inverarity - How do you develop players in OOTP4 if the minor league stats are erased at the end of the year? it is alot of trouble and clicking to develop players, High Heat has a screen to gets top player stats for minors and majors. Awesome for finding a gem and hoping he blossoms. Hope OOTP4 incorporates the minors better in future versions. |

One other thing you could kiss goodbye with an MLB license - drunken players being hurt in bar room brawls. Noooooooooooo!

Try looking at the batting/pitching talent, read the scout's description, and even judging regarding their performance during the current season. |

Do an SS if you want to go that far. That goes for all other reports too. I plan on doing that for my fictional league with minor stats, situationals, etc. |

For minor league stats I believe that Pierre's csv reporter will export them and they can be imported, besides I know I have played HH since THE first version and the minor league stats really don't show much, if anything about a player. Better just to take a shot in the dark w/ HH.

OK, there is no reason to knock High Heat, this is an excellent game. I have worked the minors and developed players to bring up. It is realistic in the fact that there are players that are great in A and AA, then flunk at AAA.
The AI sucked in High Heat as the computer was putting 18 and 19 year olds straight to AAA and they bombed bad. I was able to get these players off of free agency and develop them properly. So lets not say things negative about High Heat that are not true. Now, how can I print a stat sheet at the end of the year for the minor leagues in OOTP? This may be a workaround. |

I really wasn't trying to knock HH, I like the game. I wouldn't get it every year if I didn't, I guess it is just ashamed that they don't put more time and effort into it and really help it to fulfill the potential that it has.
To print the minor league stats go to team reports, minor league report, then you can "print to text file", just make sure when you type in a name for the file end it with the file extension ".txt" and then you can print it from within windows or keep it as a text file on your PC.
