After a couple of months, it's looking like we could have a cracking battle for the Diamond crown.

The schedule isn't great for the competitive balance this week. For the sake of the league, I'll be cheering on Long Beach
. Looks like it's gonna be a good old ding dong over in the NC

Columbia and Eden Prairie both had a good month to keep the pressure up.

Divisional rivals, Belo Horizonte and Colorado Springs, tied at the top, with NC West Savannah right behind.

Four of the teams took a break in July. Quinta made a move by going 3-0.

Columbia's 6-4 month was enough to vault them into a nice lead.

The race remains a close 3-team battle in OL I155. New Zealand is in danger of relegation again.

If Mount Hawke fall off their perch in the final month, it's pretty much open to anyone that can put a push on.
(This hasn't quite been the all-action week I was hoping for.) How's the friend list organizing going, Quinta? Last edited by Tinkerman; 11-19-2022 at 04:21 AM. |

Looks like Columbia has their eyes on the prize, but Eden Prairie are hanging in there.

Gold league:
been a crazy week outside of PT play... figured I'd put up a Gold update before it's all over: percentage-wise, Coney Island will sit atop the standings no matter what happens with the rest of the crowd, but unfortunately they only had 6 OL games. The real fun comes down to the other three teams. All three remaining teams have viable paths to the crown: -Waxhaw: needs to sweep the three remaining games with Waffletown, then hope Greenland does not also sweep their 4 games vs Waffletown (anything other than a Greenland sweep + Waxhaw sweep = Waxhaw crown) -Greenland: a 4 game sweep of Waffletown clinches the crown. Other than that, they must win at least 3 of the 4 remaining games vs Waffletown; then hope Waxhaw takes at least 2 of 3 from Waffletown as well. -Waffletown: If Waffletown can win 1 of 3 from Waxhaw; they can go 2-2 vs Greenland and still claim the crown. the first four games once sims start are Waffletown-Greenland; then the Waffletown-Waxhaw 3 game set. The final Waffletown-Greenland 3 game set is near the end of the month. (while I was typing/figuring scenarios/etc, the first sim came in and Waffletown defeated Greenland (scored 4 runs in the top of the 8th for a comeback 5-3 win); so the Greenland sweep scenario is off the table. |

I tried to PM you. Not sure if it got through. The Fiasco had a good run but are collapsing now.

Pretty good season for the Fiasco, really. I'm very disappointed with the Tinners this week, but they've been due a dodgy one. |

Auckland holds on for the crown in a tight battle. Half the OL teams made the PT playoffs while North Bay apparently sapped its strength dumping on Buffalo and is headed back to iron. Good luck to all the OL teams going forward. I'll check in again next Sunday morning to see if my services are needed. Have a great week.

Thanks, Stanley. I've been setting up the gear I need to get back into an old hobby, so I'll probably join you with the weekly check-ins before too long.

Another lucky win for Mount Hawke.
Good luck to Aomori and Shinbone, shame that Quinta just missed out on joining them. I hope Los Angeles bounce back up quickly. |

Great job, Columbia!
It's fitting that the top three made the playoffs, and it's good that Columbia and Eden Prairie missed each other in the wildcard. Good luck! |

Gold league:
After beating Greenland to start the month (removing the chance of a Greenland 4 game sweep to the OL crown), Waffletown proceeded to lose the first two games to Waxhaw. A loss in game 3 would guarantee the OL crown to the Wayverns; but the Syrups managed to salvage the last game with a 3-2 win. Now all Waffletown needed was a single win in the last three games vs Greenland. Game 1 was a back-n-forth game that needed extras to decide, and in the end Greenland emerged with an 8-7 12 inning victory. Game 2 was a pitching duel as Greenland's Kevin Brown and Waffletown's Vida Blue both tossed complete games. When the dust settled, Greenland had a 2-1 victory and a lead in the OL standings. Game 3 would be the decider with the winner taking the crown. Fans hoping for another nail-biter of a game were disappointed, as Waffletown came out with the big bats, scoring runs in each of the first four innings to stake themselves to a 9-0 lead. That was more than Syrups starter Tom Seaver needed as he cruised to the shutout victory and another OL crown for Waffletown. Overall, rough year for OL teams. Only Waxhaw made the post season claiming the division title in the NC east. No relegations this season. |
