Also, for whatever reason, I appear to have lost the ability to independently save the jerseys, which has made things rather tricky. What has helped in the meantime is that, mysteriously, the away uniform I saved has manifested as a .zip folder rather than a .uni file. I'm not really sure how that happened; it may have been a result of trying to load the .uni file earlier?

What's weird is that I had no problems exporting the home jersey I was working on earlier. The away jersey has proven to be a lot more elusive.

I have found the issue with saving "Away" jerseys. Looks like it was affecting everything that wasn't the "Home" jersey, but it will be fixed in the next release.

Jerseys and uniforms have always saved as .zip files, so I don't know what to tell you there. The .uni file is only generated when you save the entire uniform and is included in the .zip file along with all of the various images.

That's interesting, because when I saved my Home uniform, it only saved the .uni file, not a .zip file. I had to independently save the other elements (which all worked, because as you pointed out, the issue with Away/alt jerseys does not seem to affect Home jerseys). If the .zip file is the default output, that's actually a good thing, because it can serve as a workaround to being unable to save Away jerseys, since jerseys are part of that collection. Alternatively, I guess I could see if I could save an Away jersey as a Home jersey and then just change the filenames manually?

Also, apologies for the double post, but I've been making alt jerseys all day and for whatever reason, it doesn't appear to be applying my normal maps? Here's what my home alt looks like in the preview and here's what the normal map is supposed to look like.

I don't think this is necessarily a problem with your app because I've been making the normal maps in Materialize, but I couldn't find any other threads about troubleshooting issues with the new jersey template in general, so I figured people in this thread might be able to help here.

I don’t think it’s a problem with the normal map. The game doesn’t auto load the normal maps for alts like it does for home and away. Probably something the devs need to look at

Ah, that's unfortunate. Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps I will need to upload the baked-in textures in the meantime, because it sounds like this won't get fixed until OOTP 24.

Version 0.7.1 has been released!

What's fixed?
  • Finally fixed the "ring around the collar" issue.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing .uni files from reloading (see below for more detail).
  • Fixed an issue that when saving a jersey with anything but the "home" designation chosen in the combobox.

As far as the .uni file fix goes, the problem is fixed going forward, but for best results you need to manually edit any existing .uni files to reload them properly. It's a simple process, and can be done using any text editor - personally, I prefer Notepad++ for Windows, but any text editor will work.
  1. On Line 2, change the version to "0.7.1".
  2. On Line 156, replace the "#" with "wordmarkTextStroke1ColorCheck".

Technically neither of those edits are strictly necessary, but the first edit will prevent the app from displaying the warning about the file coming from a different version and the second edit will ensure that the applicable checkbox is checked and the stroke's visibility is set properly. You could always just manually set that checkbox after the fact if you want. The issue was introduced with version 0.7.0, so this fix really only applies to uniforms created with 0.7.0. Uniforms created with earlier versions will load with the caveat that they not load properly due to changes in the app over time.

Great news, thanks! I can confirm that reloading uniforms and saving non-home jerseys is possible now, lol.

Also, I appear to have made two different discoveries lately:

1. I mentioned a few days ago that my Knights home uniform didn't save as a .zip, only the .uni, but the other uniforms saved as .zip files. Well, the same thing happened with a different team, which makes me think this might be a bug that needs fixing. Granted, it's not that big a deal because saving the home uniform's separate parts has *always* worked, so it's not a high-priority issue.

More importantly though...

2. Somehow, I managed to get the Materialize normal map working for a fauxback home uniform for a different team. I tried recreating the conditions for a different uniform though and it didn't work, so I don't really know what the deal is. My thought is that if you upload the jersey with the default normal *first*, THEN upload it AGAIN after having added the Materialize normal map, it might work, but I couldn't get it to work a second time. Then again, I may not have retraced my steps exactly or there may be something else I'm missing. My only other theory is that this only works for alt uniforms that end in "_home" in the files but that wouldn't make much sense because normal maps work just fine for the default away jerseys which don't have "_home" anywhere in the filename. Perhaps someone else can help me test this out.

I don't think it's a bug because the app is specifically coded to create a .zip file and include the .uni file inside of it. The .uni file is never written to disk, just kept in memory and added to the .zip file. At the very least, I've probably saved a thousand uniforms while developing and using this and never once had anything other than a .zip file get generated. If I can make it happen, though, I'll try to fix it.

I've not been able to cause anything like this to happen so I'm not sure what's going on there. Is there an error message of any kind?

There is an issue that could be affecting some people where Electron apps are getting flagged as malware due to a Microsoft mistake, so maybe that's what's happening? https://www.theregister.com/2022/09/...alse_positive/

There was a patch for the game a couple days ago and one line in the patch notes says:

"Added possibility to define uniform item properties in the filename to change them automatically when loading a texture file"

What does this mean, exactly? Does this fix the issue the game has when loading normal maps for (certain) non-default uniforms?

Nothing to do with that. This is just adding the ability to define team and uniform colors in the filenames.

Not sure if this is possible, but it would be good to add the option to append the hex color codes to the end of the filenames if we want. Makes for easy color setup in the game when loaded

Getting this error consistently when trying to choose a local font after having already loaded it once in a prior session.

It works the first time, but after trying to load a prior uniform to make edits (resulting in the wordmark getting brought in twice for some reason), I then try to rebuild the uniform from scratch, but this error shows when I try to select the local font again.

This taken from the first post in this here thread...

"A working installation of ImageMagick 7 is required for full functionality - notably, some of the image and text manipulation relies on it. You can use this without ImageMagick but it won't be quite as fully featured."

I already had it installed, thanks. Reinstalled ImageMagick 7 and still getting same error. Not sure if rebooting fixes it, will check tomorrow.

EDIT: I am now able to reproduce the error trying to use the same local font on the cap as on the jersey.

Basic font loading doesn't rely on ImageMagick.

I have seen some fonts that just...don't work. Can you post the font here so I can take a look at it?
