I agree that it would be a sorry individual that joined Our League and fed money to his team. He would not get a trophy or any kind of PP bonus for winning one of Our League Championships like in regular PP. All he would have are bragging rights over FTP players that he would always know that he did not deserve. If he received enjoyment for that he would be a special kind of low life.
Now, the team I do spend some money on has had a couple hundred dollar investment and I am really thinking hard of adding a hundred more today to get me a direly needed top starter. Having one pay team should appease most folks.

I171 Playoff Results
Sorry for the late update but I had a non-OL team advance to the WS plus there was TV to watch last night!
In Iron 171 The Retros lost the WC game to Toronto. Mudville lost the Division Series 1-3 to the Athens Sinners. And Arkham lost the wild card game to Ann Arbor. So everyone's staying in Iron. Here's the final playoffs tree and the box score for the Retros game (since I know you're out of town): |

Stanley:
You are AWESOME for doing those crowns. They look fabulous. The only teeny weeny minor suggestion I would make is that I don't think we need the "Our League" text on the crown since we know it's for Our League. That way you could make the year bigger on the crowns - which would be easier on my old eyes! Regardless they look great and you're a champ for doing a bunch of work because some schmoe threw out an idea! |

I guess great minds think alike. When I saw them, I had the same reaction. Expect that going forward.

I bought a second copy of the game so I have 6 PT teams. 4 of them made the playoffs. The records:
Diamond: lost WC game 11-7 Silver: lost WC game 11-4 Bronze: lost WC game 11-4 Iron: ok, I did make it to the world series but I lost That's why I absolutely HATE the wild card game - too much is dependent on one game. |

Nothing personal but I'm glad I'm not in the same division as Waffletown this year - that means I have a chance!
Also it looks like a couple of teams lost their custom logos. I hate when that happens. |

heh.... sometimes the luck just sticks with a team... looks like Salem and Waffletown are the red-headed step-children this season.... isolated in their own divisions.... on the plus side, the possibility of an all-our-league playoffs is there with the spread of teams across the AC and NC divisions. |

Having a look at the Bronze .248 schedules for this week...someone may feel free to correct me if I've gotten it wrong again.
Asheboro Road Dogs: 16 Home, 19 Away Daytona Beach Pickleballers: 6 Home, 4 Away Janesville Onyx: 17 Home, 18 Away New York Patriots: 9 Home, 8 Away Ozark Bobcats: 10 Home, 9 Away Philadelphia Patriots: 10 Home, 13 Away Daytona Beach got stiffed as far as Our League matchups, but will still qualify for the championship. New York & Ozark got handed a limited schedule as well compared to Asheboro and Janesville, who ended up in the same division. |

ROADRUNNERS LOOK AHEAD AFTER 2026 COLLAPSE Expectations were high entering the 2026 season for the CliffMarkle Roadrunners. A demotion from Diamond to Gold, where they spent 3 years, had the team expecting a playoff berth and perhaps dreams of it's first Perfect Team championship. The year started well enough with the Roadrunners in contention for a wildcard spot at the all-star break and coming off a 17-11 month of June, but a dismal second half to the season left the club wondering what went wrong as they finished the season 8 games below .500 at 77-85. Steve Carlton (17-12, 2.98) had an outstanding year but the rest of the rotation was a merry-go-round as the club gave 15 pitchers at least one start in a futile effort to find 4 other consistent starters. Defense was also an issue although the outfield was greatly improved with the early season addition of 75 rated Kenny Lofton, who also led the league in stolen bases. Robin Ventura earned a gold glove for his work at the hot corner but the rest of the infield was suspect defensively. Aside from late season additions to the pitching staff in Dizzy Dean(89), Claude Passeau(88) and George Uhle(84) the only newcomer to the active roster for 2026 will be shortstop Larry Bowa. Alan Trammell (.300,21,80) led the club in hitting in 2025 but it was clear the club needed an upgrade at shortstop so Tram will DH a lot more this season allowing Bowa and his 94 rated defense to hopefully help the team. The Roadrunners lineup for 2026 - at least to start the season Code:
# POS NAME RT 2025 STATS 1 CF Kenny Lofton 75 .231, 57 SB 2 DH Alan Trammall 89 .300,21,80 3 RF Chuck Klein 84 .267,13,33 in 52 games 4 LF Willie Stargell 95 .291,39,84 5 1B Hank Greenberg 86 .243,33,94 6 2B Charlie Gehringer 92 .239,12,45 7 C Bill Freehan 96 .263,18,66 8 3B Robin Ventura 89 .269,15,56 won gold glove 9 SS Larry Bowa 67 rookie PITCHING ROTATION T NAME RT 2025 STATS L Steve Carlton 98 17-12, 2.98 258k's R George Uhle 84 3-0, 2.14 in 3 starts R Dizzy Dean 89 3-5, 3.38 L Whitey Ford 88 5-9, 4.02 R Claude Passeau 88 3-7, 4.67

SALEM update - Okay, three straight seasons of .500 pitching has gotten Salem's Diamond Wilbur Cooper a role in Middle Relief. His starting slot will be taken over by Silver Harvey Haddix - who will almost certainly do MUCH better.
ARKHAM update - When all else fails, improve your pitching! That's my motto! With that in mind, I upgraded a two of my starters (one because of a minor theme violation and the other because...hey...Lefty Grove!) NEW ZEALAND update - No one wants to play with me, so you don't really care. I'm going to go play rugby and not make any changes to this team until SOMEONE want's to play with me.

The Puppies have nine games vs. Shasta this month. Pitching upgrades have done well so far.

I do it as a text file first using codes for it to format properly.
To make it into a chart use {code} at the beginning and {/code} at the end of what you want. However replace { these brackets } with normal brakcets like these ones [ ] To make your heading in bold letters do the same with {b} at the front of it and {/b} at the end. See the attachment I posted for how you type it in a text file to get it to look like this. Code:
# POS NAME RT 2025 STATS 1 CF Kenny Lofton 75 .231, 57 SB 2 DH Alan Trammall 89 .300,21,80 3 RF Chuck Klein 84 .267,13,33 in 52 games 4 LF Willie Stargell 95 .291,39,84 5 1B Hank Greenberg 86 .243,33,94 6 2B Charlie Gehringer 92 .239,12,45 7 C Bill Freehan 96 .263,18,66 8 3B Robin Ventura 89 .269,15,56 won gold glove 9 SS Larry Bowa 67 rookie PITCHING ROTATION T NAME RT 2025 STATS L Steve Carlton 98 17-12, 2.98 258k's R George Uhle 84 3-0, 2.14 in 3 starts R Dizzy Dean 89 3-5, 3.38 L Whitey Ford 88 5-9, 4.02 R Claude Passeau 88 3-7, 4.67

Every season I've had to reload Asylum, but this year it was all three of my teams. It would be helpful if folks will check their teams and reload the stuff that got nixed. Some +'s and OL's would look nice. I'll spare you my usual whining about how OOTP places Friends. Oh, I guess I just did it. Now I'm off to get the S251 schedule together. At least I can avoid looking at my teams for another hour or so. Couldn't manage to concince myself to make any big changes during the off season. It's so hard when you're using players that you liked back in the day. I did finally shuffle a few things around and made the big addition of Jack Billingham to one of the staffs. I seem to recall "seeing" him pitch a nice game from one of the top rims at Shea Steadium. We could get free general addmission with 15 (I think) coupons clipped from Borden's milk cartons. We could generally sneak lower down later in the game. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 05-20-2019 at 05:00 PM. |
