With all due respect, that seems like an awfully important factor to work out during beta, rather than having thought out beforehand what should and shouldn't happen with finances.

There are real-world references one could use. The Premier League in the U.K. is an obvious one, especially since full financial reports on it were published in years past (and may still be; I haven't checked in awhile).

I have a league that is about 5 seasons in and was wondering when we switch to 18 later this year would we be able to use the new Arizona Fall League option to send our players too? I am assuming so but wanted to make sure. Had a few guys in the league ask me about that.

+1 for sad about the Steam limitations ... but I guess if that's the biggest complaint (paying $3 more + not entering a contest I had no chance of winning) then I think we're in good shape.

Looking forward to release!

Yes, you can add in tournaments to a league already in progress.

I don't think this was mentioned specifically, but does this go for promotion/relegation as well?

Pre-Ordered. Easiest I money spent, and best value I get back on my investment in a game by far.

Just one clarification in the newsletter... If I want the Steam edition, I will have to purchase that separately now?

Will we be able to use the new CBA rules in converted leagues as well?

I'm pretty sure I'll buy the game, but this is crazy. Screw you Steam users!

Will we have the ability to import minor league players into the game using their MiLB ID the same way we can with major league players?

New injury model / player creation & aging AI

Curious if there is more information available on this at this time? Specifically my interest is in position specific handling of injuries and player creation/aging, and to be really specific, the longevity of catchers over the course of their career. There was a thread a few months ago where we discussed how there were many catchers with 15-20 year careers putting up incredible offensive numbers well into their 30s. Understanding that anything is possible in a fictional world, but maybe having aging modifiers by position or something along those lines would allow the 20 year catcher with 400 HRs to be much more of a rarity than it is in the OOTP17 engine?
**Here's that thread I'm referencing** http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...her-usage.html

Otherwise...totally excited for custom tournaments. Always wanted to do an Arizona Fall League...

We unfortunately couldn't offer steam keys due to a change of Steam policies and certain technical issues with that. So unfortunately, if you would like the full steam version, you will have to wait to buy it on release day for the 10% discount.

Now, when the season is over, you can have the game automatically handle the promotion / relegation (based on your settings) or easily select the teams individually (for example if you have played an exhibition tournament to determine the teams).

And yes, the AI is aware about its situation in terms of its chances of promotion / relegation and acts accordingly.
This is amazing! When I first saw it listed at the bottom I was surprised it wasn't listed among the major features (as it surely is one to a lot of us fictional players). Then I thought it probably wouldn't include much, like the AI or auto handling, but that it will and you found the time to include it is awesome. Thank you!

That said, I'm even more psyched about the custom tournaments!

Tournaments and Pro/Rel??!!

I am beside myself! If base coaches make their way in this year, my wishlist will be empty.

This made me go giggity at work. My boss told me I have a serious problem

I do have two questions, then I will say what I'm excited about!

1. Will Association Playoff Stats be separate from league playoff stats? (I.E. *** stats count only in ***) Asia Series stats only count toward Association Acronym --- ASIA instead of *** and KBO/CPBL????

2. What are National Tournaments? Would this be something to like of a amateur based version of Texas vs. Florida? Or national clubs from every level playing each other (like the FA Cup in soccer)?

Now, my giggity list.
  • promotion/relegation and the ability to incorporate it into existing leagues
  • round-robin option for Association Playoffs (European Cup modified!!)
  • International Tournaments (World Baseball Classic, 21U, 18U)
  • Arizona Fall League
  • Winter League loans
  • Historical Negro Leagues
