Nope, still "unable to render font glyph", whatever the hell that means. And it's apparently a fatal error. OOTP shuts down whenever it appears. Yep, I'm throwing in the towel on this one. Thanks for your help, but I think I'm just in way too far over my head.

Sorry to hear it's not working, I should have asked sooner but are you using v14 or a previous one.

Yeah, no idea what's up. Might just be that I have an old game (still using 11). But OOTP ain't liking it, at any rate. If you want to use what I had and tweak it, go ahead, but I'm almost afraid I'll damage my game if I keep it up.

Your version may very well explain it. All of the current functionality may not have been in v11. Some features/tokens/etc were sprinkled in along the way.

You'd think they'd work, since all the xml was cut-and-pasted from templates that DO work in OOTP11. But who knows, maybe some tokens don't play well with others? Something went amiss, anyhow.
I may try to make a template again when/if I can afford to upgrade. Which, unless I can get somebody to hire me for more than just temp work, probably won't be any time soon, sad to say. |

EUREKA!
I got it done after all! Being the type to never leave well enough alone, I gave it one more try. I had a few older versions of the xml saved. I decided to go back and really check EVERYTHING...and you know what the problem turned out to be? An italicized parentheses in one of the lines. Not the one that was caught earlier, but another one. Seriously. Figures it'd be something like that, huh? Anyway, I tweaked all the values and it now looks good. Not perfect, but pretty nice for a first attempt. Pics and file coming tomorrow, since my phone is the only internet I have right now. Big thanks to Klavier and everybody else who helped in this thread. I'll give you all co-creator credit on this one! Last edited by ThatSeventiesGuy; 07-06-2013 at 11:36 AM. |

As promised, pics! First, what the original 1987 ProCards set looked like:
![]() And card pics from the template: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not half bad, huh? The borders on the card front must have blended with the color bar card a bit, but I kind of like the team colors on the top and bottom borders like that. I'll post the file in the next day or so, once I get the all-star and HOF versions done. |

Yeah, it wasn't easy. Couldn't have done it without Klavier and you helping me out. I posted the file in its own thread, if anybody wants to download it and check it out. I'd kinda like to see how it works in OOTP13 and 14.

Nice work.
When working on xml files, I like to use Notepad ++ (easy to download on the internet, and free). I find it easier to spot mistakes. |

Thanks! I'm already using Notepad, but it's an older version. I might give that a try next time!
