Possible Cheating?

Hey. I have posted this thread in help to see if one of my owners happends to be a cheater.

The guy's name is Greg Atlet, the Chicago Cubs owner in the B9BL. Last week, he was appointed the GM Reliations Job, allowing him to help recrut for a owner, with my apporval, and gathering ideas and suggestions for the league.

The "cheating" began like this. I ask Greg to recrut me a Arizona Diamondbacks owner, after he was released from the league for being inactive. He gives me an AOL address. I ask him that I do not want any AOL members in the league (we happen to have a couple in the league, but I don't want anymore) So he goes out, he finds one more owner.

As he gets the GM, he makes a deal with that GM, without even my consent that he is the new GM.

The trade itself looks decent, but also look at the grammar, and how these people type. I go ahead and look at the IPs, because from there, I got very suspecious.

GREG2169 (7:24:13 PM): well, you said for some reason you dident want aol members so i saw someone who i was in a league with who i knew was active and he was looking for another league

GREG2169 (7:25:12 PM): he was in big baseball for a while and he was in a few others i was in that have closed down

GREG2169 (7:39:40 PM): ok then fire me i dont have time to wait around on something as dumb as this... if you look at that trade if i was cheating would i send 2 of my best pitching prospects for a guy who is getting 7 mil when hes 38... i would have given alot less but i wasent cheating.... like i said i appoligze for registering for the person but i like my deals done as quick as possible

i think i MAY be able to help you out. What was the name of the Arizona owner? I can probably check IP in big (if he ever posted on the message board). If it's the same ip, the "temporary post" thing doens't check out, and that's pretty much it. If not, he's probably telling the truth. It's not CONCRETE proof, but it's something.

Talking to the Commish and assistant commish, neither has any recollection of any Sean Macctroy, which was apparently the league he knew him from. Thus, I can't check IP's. That's one strike that neither of the honcho's in BIG knows who the hell he is. If I were you, i'd get the commish of the other league (where the guy is listed as Arizona) to check IP's of it's owners.

If Greg says he knows him from BIG Baseball, but if this other person was never in the league, then it might be that Greg was lying about knowing him from BIG Baseball. Greg also mentions "other leagues" which he was in, but I don't have a simgle clue what those "other leagues" are...

It gets more clear...

im in b9bl and i have talked to greg about this,, thats the same thing he said but let's just w8 and see what happens.. maybe he is cheating or not, it's up to the investigators..

You could try and trick him.

Start up a conversation with one of this SNs

Then when his other gets on try to continue it...see if he responds correctly.

Also, are the two names ever on at the same time? If not ask him to get on both at once. If they are just do the aforementioned trick (just say brb, go away for a few minutes and pick it back up with the other guy)

if it doens't work oh well, but if it does...busted.

I wanted to try something similar. I saw GREG2169 online, then I saw gmoney online. I tried to IM gmoney, but by the time it got to him, him and Greg happen to log off around the same time.

this is going to be reported to a legal place i bielve this is illegal to post poeples comments without there approval... also you are making me look like a cheater on that forum witch is defermastion of caracter since i asked him not to and could hurt me in my other leagues... i do not agree with your actions so i will make it known that this league is unfair and will hopeful lose all other member interest.... as i told the owner (raderik) i told him i posted for the guy so the isp is the same as mine greg2169 but i guess he refuses to listen to that

well, it wouldn't be defermastion of caracter or whatever, it's in print. It would be libel anyway. And for what it's worth, truth is a complete defense to libel, and beyond that, you've never stated outright he was cheating. You've posted evidence and asked about it. Of course that'll go right over his head.

Of course, when I talk to him about it, he contiunes to believe that he didn't want this going out to the public, because it would hurt his public image... Just very ironic.

Today, I noticed that GMoney logged on to AIM for about two minutes. When GMoney logged off, so did GREG. Greg claims that he has the same ISP as GMoney.

And for what it's worth, truth is a complete defense to libel, and beyond that, you've never stated outright he was cheating. You've posted evidence and asked about it.
