I wonder if OOTP would be able to create a fake Japanese league. Fake teams, fake names, fake everything--it just happens to be a league in Japan that happens to have the same number of teams. It's not OOTP's fault if players are able to very easily edit team names and logos...

1) If you tried to edit the Japan team to their real names, they'd be scrambled the next time you load the game.

1) I don't think they plan on doing fake leagues, they said they'd add leagues if they got licenses. Not sure what the Konami situation is, or whether OOTPD would consider the license worth it.

Everyone can easily make their own though (I did). Would it really somehow be better if an OOTP-created fake lg was included in the game as opposed to us creating our own or downloading someone else's? I'd get it if people wanted to compete independently against the exact same league, but I don't think that's what anyone really wants, is it? And I get that customizing one's own graphics might be a bit burdensome, but no one has to do that, you can easily download someone else's or use a random one OOTP can create.

I think what people who want the Japanese league back really want is for it not to be fake, for it to have real player names and decent ratings, but there's no way to do that unless that league agrees to a deal or some independent person goes through the trouble of recreating the league themselves. But then people are no doubt going to take issue with its player ratings or something else and if they got it too close to the real league OOTP might be forced to ban it and put in even further restrictions against league creating.

It sucks for people who want to play an as real as possible J league, but it just is what it is until they agree to a deal.

Asked in another thread but will ask again here...with real Japanese players in the game as part of the WBC roster can we import them into a standard game? Not the same as a Japanese league but it would be nice to finally have real Japanese players we can bring into the MLB over the next several seasons. Definitely better than them all being fictional.

I know we should never say never but this is the same league that said fans couldn't post pictures or videos they took at the WBC games. Of course they relented but then they do everything that can to stop streaming of their games and, in the Central League especially, do everything possible to make game basically impossible to watch for non-Japanese fans who are willing to pay for that privilege. It really is crazy how much they don't want to grow the game.

Look, I can see why OOTP won't include the EnPeeBee. But what about all the other leagues from other countries? And all the independent leagues?

The MLB Partner Leagues are there as far as indy leagues.

Pretty sure they're sticking with only including licensed leagues (which is why we get the UK and Honkbal) like they said after removing ***.
