Pitchers Prematurely Losing Velocity Without Cause
I have TCR at 100 and I can't think this is all coincidental...I have several pitchers losing a mile or two per hour on their pitches upon hitting age 32. None are related to injury. Anyone else seeing this?

It happens. Are you playing with annual recalc toggled on? If so, the ratings are probably reflecting IRL loss of velocity. If, on the other hand, you are playing with development on, even with default TCR, ratings change. And at age 32, usually for the worse. By any chance did you change the default 1.00 settings for pitcher aging? I adjust those to 1.15 or more for aging and also prospect development, which tends over time to shift the league toward younger players. One other thing, you might send those hurlers to the development lab, to develop off speed pitches. They're going to need them!

It's possible they made aging more deleterious in OOTP25. OOTPD would have to chime in. Tough to get a good sample size and to separate the signal from the TCR noise.

This never happened with this level of frequency to me in OOTPs before 25, unless there was an injury. Normally the significant velo drops came at or around age 35. |

Feel like this is on the rise again. Anyone else noticing it?

The current public beta should reduce the velocity decline a bit more: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=358253
It still may not quite match IRL rates, without a deeper re-work of the creation and development, the current setup is about as aggressive as we can be without doing something like completely disabling velocity changes before some arbitrary age. But hopefully it should be better. |

Honestly I would advise a combo of: Hard set that velocity won't decline before a certain age without injury After age, velocity decline is also tied to injury status Example, a guy with a fluky good injury rating (say Nolan Ryan having a 1/1/1/1 injury rating across the board) should lose velocity incredibly slowly. In my most recent save where I ran from 77, by 85 Nolan Ryan was throwing 80s. His velocity seemed to fall pretty significantly each year despite never being hurt. The velocity decline just totally ruins pitchers who are built on velocity/shaky command. |
