How to make minor league stats and transactions more realistic?

I have been testing the waters in OOTP 25, standard game, and after doing a couple test sims of a single season, I looked at transactions made, specifically the minor leagues.

Firstly, I noticed that there were no trades listed after the trade deadline, when in reality there are still trades made.

Secondly, some of the transactions made, especially in the minors, made no sense. Highly rated prospects performing well at AA were demoted to A+ for no reason, AA Portland had a 36 year old Chase Anderson pitching for them for most of the season, AAA or MLB caliber players starting the year in A+ or AA. For AI evaluation of players I tested it maxed out for both ratings and then maxed out for current stats, but neither solved the issue.

In short, I want to make AI transactions, not just trades, specifically MiLB ones, more realistic and life-like. I would also want to know why there are absolutely no trades beyond the trade deadline. Thanks.

I think the minor leagues follow the major league deadline? I’m not sure.

Regarding the deal with prospects getting sent to high A and older guys sitting in lower levels, my advice is to set age limits below AAA. I think I have 26 for AA, 24 for high A, and on down. The game actually does seem to do a solid job of dealing with these and it won’t IME keep older players in AAA just to have them: if they’re not good enough for the roster, instead of bloating the roster they’ll just release them.

Real life doesn’t have age limits of course but rarely do older players play below AAA and from a mechanical standpoint aging tends to be done by around a guy’s 25th birthday so you aren’t making teams lose still developing players.

Ok, thank you. I had considered it but figured it might screw stuff up. I will try that.

And to complete the picture, if you wondered where those older prospects go, the ones cut by AAA teams, they frequently end up in the independent leagues, which of course have no age limits, and are full of washed-up guys. The cool thing is that, once in awhile, those guys rediscover their hitting stroke, or their arm heals, or maybe transition from SP to RP, and they are on the radar of MLB organizations again.

Indeed, have seen this in my league with a few "washed-up" guys, very cool...

Minor league trades can only be made by unaffiliated minor league teams. To show up under minor league transactions. When MLB teams trade minor league players it shows up in the major league transaction log.
