Week of Woe: The one that got away for all 32 NFL teams
This yahoo.sports article is a nice trip down memory lane w/some interesting tidbits I didn't know.
The one for Tampa Bay I didn't know. NCAA is a really stupid organization. I personally find Joe Namath to be the most overrated US team athlete in history. So not sure I agree w/"he got away". I wonder what happened to the doc that wouldn't clear Drew Brees. But then Dolphins doc last year cleared Tua.

If Favre had stayed in Atlanta he wouldn't be in the HOF. He was about to party his way out of the league.

lol @ cutting Dilfer… I get that his replacements weren’t all that but as a fan of his next team, I’m sorry, Ravens fans: Trent Dilfer was a nice guy but a limited player. He battled Matt Hasselbeck for a little while before Hasselbeck figured things out and if memory serves there was a game in there against the Rams where Dilfer just looked horrifically bad. Maybe that wound up being one of those games where Mike Holmgren left in a guy with a concussion because Mike Holmgren is a jackass, but man Dilfer looked like a guy who not only didn’t have much of an arm but was terrible at making decisions with it.
Denver’s is equally risible. How is this Denver’s fail and not every team in the NFL’s for not picking Wilson when they had the chance in the first or the second round? I mean, even the Seahawks “failed” in that regard. That ones just dumb. You don’t see people saying that like the 49ers “failed” to draft Tom Brady in the 4th round… As was implied by the actual article, Elway was never going to sign with the Colts because they were trash from the very top. Lawrence Phillips was a criminal but the article just notes that the Bus was Offensive Rookie of the Year 3 years prior without mentioning that he’d turned into Trent Richardson since then. It’s cool that he turned into a good RB after that. The vast majority of players who play like Bettis played in those 2 seasons don’t play in the league again. Rodgers would have had to start immediately in SF with a bad supporting cast. That ruined Smith for years and probably would have ruine A-Aron as well. I read down for the Seahawks one and yep, it’s equally dumb. They drafted Aaron Curry 3rd overall, lost out on local-ish boy Drew Bledsoe because they upset the Patriots in 1992 (the 1992 Seahawks might have been the worst offensive team in NFL history), and gave up a first round pick for the all time bust known as Brian Bosworth… and these guys’ choice was drafting Steve August over Tony Dorsett? Really? Man. Even for click bait this article was kind of trash…
