Personnel help

I'm not really that good with the personel aspects of this game.. had them turned off before.. but was wanting to give it a try.. will create 2 expansion teams on first day of off season..I'll have the game create and assign personel.. I've seen a couple youtube vids on this subject but still trying to wrap the old noggin around this stuff.. when can I replace personel and hire free agents etc..I didn't see an option to do this on the first day of off season. thanks in advance

Personnel can be replaced at any time.

Check your league calendar to see what day Free Agency begins. Usually starts the day after Arbitration hearings.

Personnel contracts end pretty much right after the World Series (a day or so later) so I make a note to myself to look at them right before, extending the guys I want to keep.

The Play Menu near the end of the season will tell you the exact day Free Agency starts. There's also a League Events screen you can access via the League News screen.

I extend those I want to keep as soon as they'll talk contract. I don't know about 24 but in earlier versions there's a mid season e mail reminder of which coaches have expiring contracts which I think is the latest a GM should be trying to extend.

Also if you have the Assistant GM handling minor leagues, you can still extend minor league coaches yourself. Its a good thing to do if you have a major league coach who might retire before his contract ends.

I don't know how much effect coaches have. Maybe a slightly noticeable one in fictional, probably near zero in historical. I consider having coaching enabled mostly gives me a place to spend some money.
