Have there been any announcement on new features?

I’ve bought the last 20 or so OOTPs
So, I know I’m buying the new version.
But, I’m curious about any news on the new game

I have to admit that I find it a little concerning we have not heard anything about 24. Or maybe I missed it.

If you follow the link above you can see that no information was released about OOTP 23 until March of 2022.

This has generally been the case for quite a few versions now (somewhere in the late February to late March range)

I'm not sure why people all of the sudden are expecting information about the next version of the game in January.

Edited to list some dates for previous years.

OOTP 23
Pre-Order: 3/22/22
Trailer: 4/7/22
Reveal Show: 4/14/22

OOTP 22
Pre-Order: 2/22/21
Trailer: 3/5/21
Reveal Show: 3/12/21

OOTP 21
Pre-Order: 2/21/20
First Look Show: 2/24/20

The only information I was looking for is that there will be a 24. It seems I remember we heard that the new version was coming before those dates at the very least.

Usually there won't be any information available until about a month or so prior to release. When the release date will be this year is anyone's guess. Most of the time the development team aims for a March release, however last year it was released a bit later in April.

The BETA will usually drop in mid-February, so I wouldn't expect any buzz until late February or early March. I find myself very anxious this year to find out what new and improved features might be in 24...more so than any other year that I can remember in awhile. It just feels like they need to take a nice step forward this year.

If I recall, when Alex went on pfholden's channel last winter he said that in general the dev cycle for OOTP is major upgrades/changes in the odd numbers, then refinement and minor add-ons in the even editions.

I wasn't aware this was a concrete policy. Hmmm. Well, if true, I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up. But honestly, I would be fine if they "finished" a lot of the features already in the game. It could use a lot of refinement and augmentation. If they were able to do this across the board, I would consider it to be fairly big.

There hasn't been an announcement that there won't and since the other 23 versions have almost all come annually there isn't really a reason to doubt it.

You won't hear any kind of official word until the Pre-Order announcement, which will come somewhere in the late February to late March range.

If would be nice to see a bunch of the legacy bugs and unfinished features finally finished

My top concern however is that (and I have no data to back this up…just a hunch) that we may not see many new future features that benefit the core game, without having to mutually impact both the core game & PT. Some might say no big deal, but I think it would mean the core game wouldn’t get a lot of needed attention.

New features? We wont hear about 24 until a month before release/beta then it takes 3 weeks of twitch or youtube content to discover what it is. And 90% of the time the new features are just whatever rules MLB has implemented in the new season.

The last killer feature OOTP had in its single player game was 3d and I think that is like 5 or 6 years old now. After that is all PT making new features. Single player game is basically just a yearly patch now. Pretty sad.

My experience is that OOTP21, 22, and 23 have all been massively improved for GM/single-player play to the point it would be impossible for me to ever go back to the version before.

So that means we'd have to wait until OOTP 25 AT LEAST for college league inclusion to match FHM?
