Historical Fiction League
So I have been trying to figure this out and not having any success.
Is there a way to use the historical financial/league/team settings from 1903 but using fictional players? Basically I want to recreate MLB history from 1903 to present using fake players. I assume we can do it but I cant seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance. |

Start with a historical 1903 game. Go into the league settings and uncheck Import historical rookies. Go to League functions and clear rosters. Delete every player from the FA pool. Now go back to league functions and fill teams with fictional players.

Don't forget to clear out the stats/history of this league after deleting all the players.

I can confirm that this does in fact work. In fact, if you've brought in logos, ballcaps, and jerseys into the appropriate folders, the game will even match everything up automatically for you, do administrative stuff like automatically move the Brewers and Orioles in '02 and '03 (which I guess doesn't technically matter if you're starting in '03 but still!) and basically do everything but set up the Federal League in 1914 and 1915.
It also won't really handle the minor leagues at all. That's your call as to what you want to do there. The game is at its most stable when you have at least a couple levels of minor leagues below the main level. I realize that isn't the most historically accurate way to go in the world but the alternative is MASSIVE reserve rosters where you don't get stats to see how the players are (or aren't!) progressing.
