NUEBL looking for 2 new dedicated managers!
NUEBL Openings
The NUEBL is a great non-fictional, scouting league that started with the actual 2010 rosters. We are currently in the midst of the offseason following the 2014 season. In real time, the league has been ongoing since May of 2010. With over a year and a half under our belts, the league has an established group of GMs and a solid history. Along with our core group of dedicated GMs, we have a very competitive atmosphere and a lively forum. The league runs 3-day sims every night of the week (don't worry, you aren't expected to export every sim). Due to the frequent sims, we are fairly relaxed on export frequency...most owners probably export 4 or 5 times a week on average. There's no writing requirements, but as you'll find out, a lot of GMs will type up detailed power rankings, draft analysis, and league review articles on their own accord. This league is pretty challenging! There are some very good teams and very good managers in this league. This may not be the best league for someone who is in 3 or 4 leagues and looking for one more to tide them over. This league will require a significant (not astronomical, but decent) time commitment to be successful. More league info: League website: NUEBL League reports: BNN Home Page League forums: NUEBL • Index page (must register to view) Required: OOTP 12 Scouting: on Coaching: on Injuries: classic CEI: on Scouting scale: 2-8 Sim Schedule: Every night at 8 pm, 3 days per sim Currently we have the following teams available: Baltimore Orioles (the Orioles are in a bit of a bind - I would recommend this spot for an experienced GM looking for a challenge) St. Louis Cardinals (not far back from a playoff spot) Please contact brian.eshbach@gmail.com if interested. |

St. Louis is taken.
Baltimore is still open. They would need a very good GM up for a rather sizable challenge; their organization is pretty barren. |

WARNING!!!
I feel like it's my DUTY to inform people how the NUEBL is run. Without going too far into detail, the league is in its dying breaths, largely thanks to "leadership" that is way in over their head (im saying 'their' because a family of 3 plus a 'stepbrother' are co-commishing), and the most talented GMs having either been removed unilaterally by "leadership" for purely private reasons, or are so disgusted with the four (dubbed "The Four Horsemen" by many in the league) "leaders" that they stopped being actively involved in the league, and simply do no more than get their exports in. What used to be a great league with lots of great, truly active and dedicated GMs is now a hell hole, one in which any dissenting opinion from that of the Four Horsemen immediately leads to removal from the league or a forum ban. Established rules are broken IF it helps the Four Horsemen, and enforced if the Four Horsemen arent involved. Promises of the Four Horsemen cannot be taken for granted. For example, one of the non-family members and genuine good guys in the league was supposed to become co-commish a few months ago (after there was an uproar over the abuse of power on behalf of the Four Horsemen) to balance the power/influence a bit. Only after severe pressure was put on the family did they agree to it. BUT: turns out that they never answered any of the supposed new co-commishes inquiries about either the password or info on how and when to sim. Behind closed doors, in short, the family made sure that no one would curb their power, despite publicly claiming the opposite. On top, the Four Horsemen recently decided to put to a vote whether to remove a pesky GM who dared to question how things were being run, and who dared make constructive points as to how to improve the league. They put it to a league vote whether to remove said pesky GM, and failed 13-8 (really, 13-4 if you dont count their own biased votes). Yet, they naturally removed him anyways. To sum it up: IF you're interested in not being able to speak your mind, IF you're interested in risking removal from the league or a forum ban for being too constructive, IF you're interested in being a pawn in a league featuring 4 kings and 26 pawns...well, then the NuEBL is for you. If you're a dedicated GM with skill and someone that values communication, especially constructive communication, well: sorry, the NuEBL simply isnt for you. Overall, the league is broken, thanks to the catastrophic "leadership" of the Esh.... family and their lackey Adam E. I strongly recommend you not waste your time on people like this. If you want info regarding those 4 people (I did not feel like giving the whole names in public), feel free to PM me. Because you don't want to have anything to do with these people in the OOTP universe. Last edited by EdReed20; 01-04-2012 at 10:34 AM. |

You already called them out in public why not list their names, obviously I know who you are talking about and we shall see if your right but I seriously doubt it. |

Danny is way off base with his claim of collusion of the "4 Horsemen". Danny has his opinions of how the league should be run and what rules should be and should not be in place.
He writes great articles but can be very offensive at times. The NuEBL is a great league with very active GM's who many have been in place for over a year now (Real Life). Do not fear the post that Danny made, it is out of anger. |

Hi guys. A complaint by one person doesn't mean much to me (nor do from multiple accounts if they somehow look fishy). And thankfully, I think most people (like evidenced here) take complaints the same way. Yeah, it probably hurts if you're the one attacked, but it probably doesn't hurt the league much if any at all.
Anyway, this person looks like they have voiced their concern (in decent enough language) and moved on which is exactly what we think people should have the freedom to do here. Persistent attacks are another thing entirely however and will more likely result in being carded/banned. Hopefully this is the end of it though.

- have broken their own promises time and again (most notably when they appointed a more 'liberal/progressive' co-commish to offset their own diehard ultra-conservative values, which the rest of the league pushed them to do, and then make a deliberate effort to ignore their new co-commish any time he voiced his opinion, and never bothered to give gim the password and/or include him in the simming process). So yeah. They had kinda promised to share their power (it should be noted those 4 did NOT start the league...they unilaterally took it over when the league founder left)...and then broke their promise - don't feel bound by majority decisions of the league (that 13-8 vote I alluded to in my post above wasn't something of my imagination. It's just plain and simply what happened in reality, even if its hard to believe the brazeness behind it) - break their own rules when it suits them (there was a rule - one that I desperately fought for - that disallowed ripping off newbie GMs. Any such deliberate ripoff deal would be reviewed, and if deemed too crazy one-sided, the rule was to reverse the trade. When one of those 4 "leaders" ripped off a newbie recently - acquiring a top-10 player (Justin Upton) and another star for absolutely nothing in return - the rule was naturally not enforced. Since it benefitted one of the Four Horsemen) - put the family first. My dismissal was due to the fact that I dared critisize the father of the then-commish (his brother is the commish now) for continually ripping off newbies in very shameful fashion. I was just too open in my criticism of a family member (I was never personal in my crticism - but I did critizise the pattern of ripping off the newly joined members over and over and over again), and it cost me my team. So yeah, it wasnt a call made for the good of the league (hence the unsurprising 13-8 vote in my favor, despite desperate smear campaigns against me on behalf of the family while keeping me banned from the forums - making sure no one could hear the other side to the story), but the call was made because the family kinda wanted it that way. Dissent was to be crushed, even against the wishes of the majority of the league. Like I said, to offset the family's power, there was supposed to be a non-family co-commish. But again, that guy was ignored and marginalized the entire time, and has told me he's "given up working with those clowns [the family and their lackey Adam E]. They simply do whatever the hell they wanna do, end of story". That's a quote, btw. So, sorry for the wall of text. But getting smeared AGAIN on the public forums is too much to bear. If some public moderator decides to dismiss me from the OOTP forums for speaking the truth, fine. Then it's worth it. But I'm not gonna watch those people drag my name in the dirt, and I certainly wont sit here and do nothing, and have the same things that happened to me happen to good people. So beware of those people. You want NOTHING to do with them. Peace out. |

Ed I have seen you rip off newbie GM's also with your so called Best Catcher Prospect of all time when you demanded any trade for him would cost 5 5 star players/prospects. I don't see you complaining about that. Didn't you rip off Brooklyn when he did his 2013 fire sale? I know any time i tried to make a deal with you you would demand way too much for what little you were willing to trade. What was the 13-8 voting on? why didnt 9 other GM's vote? They took over the league after the Washington GM/Commish left the league hanging for over 3 months. I applaud them for keeping the league going. No one liked you when you were part of the league, so no one should hold any value in what you say in here now.

Yeah, I've gotten similar feedback on this league! Definitely in my "bottom tier".

There was a vote and discussion on a trade council, it didnt pass, nor do I want one. It is a scouting league and everyone see's the players differently. Upton, while I think he is a stud, may not be what I think he is. its all about opinions in a scouting lerague unless you have the actual ratings which are not viewable in the scouting leagues. |
