62 Days

As the build-up begins I thought it would be worth having a separate thread for the Mayweather Jr vs. Pacquiao fight.

I've posted it in the fantasy fights forum as I'll no doubt run the fight a bunch of times before fight night.

A Bout A Day...

I'll aim to sim a bout each day until the fight.

If my maths is right that'll be 62 bouts and we should see who comes out on top.

From now on I will use the same three judges in every bout;

Craig Metcalfe
Michael Pernick
Dave Moretti

Chosen them as all three have a shot at actually being there on fight night.

Have been using Kenny Bayless as the referee and will continue to do so... Tony Weeks is probably the only other option and I might change half-way through.

Much as I'd like to see Pacquiao win, my gut feeling is that Maywether still has enough to edge him out. I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a knockout based on recent events.

Like most I've spent the best part of 5 years analyzing this match-up, in 2009 I would of gave Mayweather the slight edge - now I'm giving him that little bit more.

Both have regressed, but for me Pacquiao's effectiveness has diminished more so due to the physical demands of his particular style.

I would be more than happy to be proved wrong on May 2.
