Arbitration Disaster?

Is there no way to disable managers having to deal with arbitration? I'm afraid it's going to be a huge mistake for our online league. We had a problem with aloof managers not protecting players from the rule 5 draft and many of those players a team can afford to lose. I imagine this is going to be a bloody disaster with many very good young players going to free agency because they haven't been offered arbitration. Is the only option really to disable arbitration completely?

As of the current patch, the default behavior for arbitration eligible players is for the team to offer arbitration.

So for owners who are not paying attention, they would not lose anyone due to apathy. An owner has to purposefully go in and withdraw arbitration from a player in order for them to become a free agent via non-tender.

I guess I didn't actually answer your question though.

If you are dead-set on disabling arbitration, I believe you just have to change the setting in the financial options for the league for "Minimum Years for Arbitration". The options there should be #of Years for Free Agency minus 1. You should also however have the option to set no arbitration in that pull down as well.

Oh, awesome! Thank you very much. The screen says that the players will automatically go to FA so this is extremely welcome news! Thanks, again. Phew!

EDIT: To your second post: no, I was just worried about them auto going to FA if no offer was submitted. I don't think we want to disable arbitration fully.

Awesome, this was a PITA with casual owners in the CDL also, very happy the new patch changed the teams default position to 'offering arbitration'.
