Two-Way Players
I've searched the forum and found nothing on the subject so hopefully someone here has information pertaining to my question-
I have a reliever in my system who is also more than capable of being a quality thirdbase prospect. I have him in my lineup as the starting 3B as well as in my bullpen setup as the closer; however, through 6 weeks of play, he's yet to appear in a game as a pitcher. Am I to assume the game forces you to pick one over the other? |

I don't know really know the answer to your question, but if he's your starting 3B how often do you really expect him to be given the ball to relieve? A few times a season? It could just be 6 weeks isn't long enough. Is he not playing a lot of games/innings?

If he is being used as your starting third baseman, then he likely won't be called upon to relieve. If he was a backup, or didn't start every day, then he'd have the opportunity to pitch. The AI won't move him from third base to the pitcher's mound within a game.
Does that answer your question? |
