New Positions
I'd like to be able to designate someone as an infielder (IF), outfielder (OF), and utility (UTIL or UT). We can already make someone a DH so I imagine it can't be that hard to do.
It would allow me to see that a guy can play all the infield/outfield positions at a glance. Just a thought. |

That's what spring training and playing time are for coach.
otherwise you can just edit the particular player, but where's the fun in that

The DH is an actual position by itself, OF and IF are blankets for a few different positions. So long as the player has ratings for each position I don't see much of a positive from being able to give him the blanket tag.

Yes if give the person a rating at each Postion then they can play each postion in the game but don't give then all 200 and also a good Player or Pitcher because then you would have a Hitter like lets say Barry Bonds playing 2B.

Like I said, just an idea. The positive to me is I can assign the blanket position to guys I am developing as utility infielder/outfielders and guys on my active roster to tell me without having to go to the positions rating screen to find out what they can play. Thanks for the input everyone.

I'd like to have IF, OF and UT positions available.

This would be a great idea. These extra labels would greatly reduce the number of times I have to switch to "view position ratings" to remind myself who is a good idea to sub in as a defensive replacement.

Maybe think of OF and IF, maybe UT for an even more versatile player, as "roles," like SP, RP, and CL. The latter are all the same position, pitcher, but they are distinguished by slightly different skill profiles and the way they are typically used. Similarly, my IF may have his best single rating at first base, but he may play as many or more games at second and third, because he has acceptable ratings there too, and he's the guy I use to fill in on short notice in the infield.

I'd also very much like to see this available as just a guide to yourself of, okay, I'm fine with having this guy do this, but not that even if he does have ratings at that.
I'd like to see IF, MIF, CIF, OF, COF, and UT though.
