Expansion Team Name Suggestion Thread

I'm expanding my baseball league, so I need team names from each of you, ASAP.

Below are the naming guidelines for my league along with some current team names.

They should have the same letters starting each word. Example:

Portland Pioneers
Middletown Magicians
Hoboken Haymakers

OR

Make "sense" in some other way:

Alberta Clippers (weather term that sounds cool -no pun intended-)
Las Vegas Aces (baseball and playing cards dual-usage term)
San Andreas Faults (duh)

Ready - GO!

I always use Las Vegas Aces as well.

Minnesota Mudcats
Portland Storm (Because of the weather)
Philadelphia Liberty (Liberty Bell)

I don't know, I've got better but can't think of any right now.

Philadelphia Freedom (which is the default name of one of the teams in DDS: Pro Basketball, and which always puts the corresponding Elton John song in my head)
Sacramento Solons (alliterates, is topical in that "Solon" is an old word meaning "lawmaker" and Sacramento is the capitol of California, and it's historical in that it's been used by prior Sacramento ballclubs)(the mascot could be a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica)
Kentucky Colonels ("it's a reference to the valor of the residents and not fried chicken! We promise!")
Birmingham Barons (alliterates and IIRC the name of Willie Mays' first team)
Montreal Expos (come on, you know you want to)
Vancouver Pig Warriors (a reference to my favorite moment in US/Canadian history)

So far, I'm digging the "Flint Stones."

I should have mentioned - we don't use cities that currently have real MLB teams. So, no Philly, Boston, San Fran, etc.

I'm adding 4 teams and want at least 8 good names - and hopefully make a poll for 'em.

Keep 'em coming!

I like Louisiana Lightning but we already have the Baton Rouge Big Spenders - don't think the market is big enough.

As far as Baton Rouge's name - they had the first pick ever way back in the initial draft for my league and selected Ruth. They then went and gave him a lifetime contract for $100 million - in one lump sum - hence the "Big Spenders."
