Contract Negotiations: Offer Levels

Ok, this is important cuz I made a mistake and I have 1 chance left to sign my 2 best offensive players and my team already sucks, without them we'd be a disgrace..

Does anyone know if OOTP uses some kind of offer levels in contract negotiations and if so, what are they? What I mean is, say I offer player X 4.9M and he says no, could what he wants be 4.95 or must it be in 100K increments and so the next possible level would be 5M? I usually go by 300K (or 600K, 900K, etc) increments, but that's just something I've gone with. I realize players might ask for something that might end with 3K, but I'm looking for what they accept, not what they request.

Also, I think I've been pretty reasonable, even generous imo, with what I've offered them compared to what similar players in the league are making, but they've told me I've "had my chance", though I do actually have 1 more.

I always go with 500K increments. It's just easier for me to do the math that way.
