Roy Jones Jr. Interview
I'm doing an interview for my radio station today with Roy Jones, Jr. about his Saturday night fight. I already have some questions mapped out but I wondered what someone who's a die-hard boxing fan would like him to be asked. (I watch the fights when I can but I'm nowhere near as die-hard as those of you here in the basement.)
What, if anything, would you like to know about the guy that hasn't already been asked? Is there anything that hasn't already been asked? I can't promise I'll work your questions in but I'll try. |

I'm not real sure what to ask him. I am of the opinion that taking the Hanshaw fight was a good move. Taking on an unbeaten prospect is always better than fighting a nobody.
If he wins you'd think his title shot hopes are more probable than beating up 40 y/o never wuzzes. So to that end you could ask him what made him decide to take on an unbeaten prospect rather than taking the Holyfield path of beating up stiffs until someone gives you a title shot. |

Tell him some idiot on a boxing board (me) thinks it would be a lot more impressive if he tries to knock him out instead of being satisfied with dancing and winning a UD12 LOL
But don't give him my address!! LOL |

Yeah, ask him about Hanshaw being so mad about being locked out of the hotel gym. Did Roy really do that & was that to play with his mind?
Also, how he felt about Floyd Sr.'s comments about him? |

Ask him whether he would allow us to call TB3 "Roy Jones' Title Bout Championship Boxing". Please.

Looks like our buddy Roy is back in the mix, of sorts; winning the vacant IBC world light-heavyweight title on Saturday night vs Anothony Hanshaw. Boxrec has him at #4, behind former conquerors Tarver and Johnson, as well as current #1, IBF champion Clinton Woods, whom Jones KOd 5 years ago. Given the current state of the divsion, he still has to be considered on of the best, though many years past his prime.

^ True, Hanshaw's a young strong guy, maybe not the elite of the division but it doesn't always take an elite level guy to give a guy past his prime a beating to convince him it's time to retire - see Gatti vs. Gomez.

Tell him the Dublin Guards are really counting on him this season
![]() Seriously, I'm curious to know why he never tried to pick up a cruiser belt, since he has the rest from middleweight-heavyweight already, or is that in his future plans? |

I'm sure the interview is done and gone, but it would have been funny if you'd have asked him why he's still boxing now that he's lost his speed.
