Repeatable Crash Bug

I started a 1987 historical league from the Lahman database and took over one of the teams. Every time I ask the Manager for a Depth Chart vs. either RHP or LHP I get a crash. Seems like the other options here work fine (asking Bench Coach to suggest either specific or all & asking Manager to suggest all charts), but this combo creates a problem.

I didn't start having crashes until I installed the Lahman database. So...I might wait to keep using it.

Mine always crashes in the same way, without Lahman.

It also always crashes when I right click on a player on the free agent window.

Well, for me the game is basically unplayable right now. Tons of stuff could make it crash.

Yes I'm finding other crashes as well. For instance, when I *left* click on the "Action" button on a player page the game crashes. Very unhappy

I learned the hard way from the crashing to set the auto save to every week, which I think the default should be. I could never mention the stream of explatives I shouted out when the game crashed and I realized my last save was about 7 months ago.

Is there anything that can be checked? Computer settings? Game settings?

It seems some users are getting numerous crashes, while others (like me) not at all. Might it be useful to have a single thread for 'crash victims' to post their specs (including Windows version, service packs, IE version, etc) to see if some common denominators appear?

As a follow up, here's my latest info:

I was getting these crashes after following the instructions on page 51 of the Game Guide, which is section 2.0, "Jump Right In!".

After getting frustrated with the crashes I deleted this league and used one of the two quick start leagues. From then on, no crashes and the action button worked fine. So it is related to something that is there (or not there) in the quick start. I suspect that perhaps following the instructions on page 51 sets up a situation where some needed data is not generated and so there's a crash when the program looks for this. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Anyway, you folks might want to make a cautionary mention of this.
