Player asking for different $ between 6.12 and 6.5a

Not sure if this is a reported problem, but in my league (running 6.5a on commish's machine), a player is asking for (as an example) $4,000,000 x 3 years, but on the GM/owners 6.12 machine, he's asking for $2,750,000 x 3.

Needless to say, this is making it difficult to sign the player, and the number changes with each sim.

Is this a known issue?

Well, I posted about it pretty soon after 6.5 was released. I didn't post it to ask for them to be made the same though as I imagine 6.5 was improved in this area, just to let everyone know that there wouldn't be no problems if some members stuck with 6.12.

Each patch will likely tweak how players are evaluated by the AI. This may lead to differences in asking price as seen here.

Agreed.......this will happen just about anytime the AI is tweaked as far as player evaluation is concerned. Really shouldn't come as a surprise.

Yep, me and brad ( SD ) were testing this out after one of my players was asing for chump change to me but on commish he was asking alot more.

Honestly this is not good. Some of the differences were BIG.

The obvious fix: Get everyone using the same version.

But not everyone is willing to be an extra $10 for 6.5.

If that is the case then the league is just gonna have to handle it in whatever way they see fit I'd say.

-There are several different "builds" of 6.5
-If the two are not using the same EXACT league file(different date).

These are two ways that they may get different results.

I have never seen this unless either different versions are being used OR a sim was done in between.

I'll ask Markus if this is possible, but not having seen this and having it reported in what maybe an isolated incident leads me to think that one of the other stated variables may have come into play. I'll let you know what I hear.

I got back a reply from Markus and he stated that this isn't possible if all are using the EXACT same files. Somewhere along the line the variables of files has come into play.

unfortunately, i dont agree.

step by step...

1) commish runs sim on 6.5a and ftps for GMs to d/l the file
2) GM d/l the file and looks at player X contract demands (using 6.5a)
3) GM posts on the league forum the exact amount the player is asking for
4) next sim day, commish opens his copy of the file and enters extension offer and gets denial (or sees the player is actually asking for a higher amount)
5) commish posts player's response on forums
6) commish processes player movement
7) commish posts a "done" reply in all player movement threads at the forums
8) commish sims the next X days and back to #1

in another league im in, the commish enters extension offers every time he goes to the league forum and sees a new offer, whether ore not it is a sim day. there's no possible way for the "days have been simmed" response to apply.

out of curiosity, does Markus belong to any online leagues?
