i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how many rounds to use in the ammy draft

it seems when i use the default 10 that i get a lot of scrubs come the fifth or so round

thanks for the help

I've always used between three and five. Seems to be a good amount of players to me...

Several studies about this were done for OOTP5, was there any for OOTP6?

3-5 rounds being enough just proved there aren't enough busts in this game.

It kind of depends on how full you want your minor league systems to be and how many scrub free agents you want to be available. Five seems to be the minimum to keep minor league teams fully stocked, and with any fewer the AI teams will end up with only a few players in their minors.

I think there are enough busts. Of course something like the amount of busts is going to be very subjective so to each his/her own...

I think this was the best v5 thread on the topic: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ad.php?t=53787

The conclusions were that the more teams and the more rounds, up to 10 rounds, the more top prospects were generated.

I think that's a very good point and why I went to 7 rounds from 5.

Another thing to consider is that the default for v5 and v6 is 10 rounds, whereas it was 5 for v4. I figure that Markus, for whatever reason, felt that 5 was too few. From my experience 5 is not too bad though. I'd say anywhere from 5 to 10 is probably fine.

I have the default as 10 rounds but change it to 7 on the pre-draft screen. That way I can have quite a few that are non-drafted free agents.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!
