Schedule Suggestion

I don't know if this idea has been floated or not, (I did a basic search) but it is something I would like to see in a future version of OOTP.

Currently OOTP doesn't run on a 12 month schedule. Basically, no matter what you do with the schedule it starts in March/April and ends in October/November.

If the scheduling is to ever be overhauled (preferably with LGO's fine suggestions) I would like it to work a little differently. I would like to be able to schedule (I don't need individual games, just the date to trigger the event) Free Agency, Spring Training, the All-Star Break, Opening Day, Trading Deadline, roster Call ups, etc.

Let me give you an example, If I wanted to do a league based on the European soccer schedule it would work something like this. I would schecule Spring Training (in this case Summer Training) for July/August. Opening Day would be at the end of August/Early September, the All-Star break would fall sometime around New Years, Trading deadline in late winter, then the end of the season and playoffs in late spring, Free Agency in June/July. Repeat.

That would allow for some differing weather conditions. Also, it would allow us to do some other types of league. If I wanted to do a short season league it could run April to July then FA in August, Fall Training in September and another short season. The options could be endless as to what we could do. Granted most wouldn't use them, but I think there is great potential for a 12 month calender to be used in OOTP.

Gosh, I hope this made sense and isn't already implemented.

I agree completely. This becomes more and more important the more different your league is from the standard. I really want this and I'm sure many other fictional and historical lovers out there do too.
