Question Spring Training Reports

Can someone explain to me exactly how to read the spring training reports? They really confuse me. When I look at players prior to spring training and then after wards, it may say something like a pitcher has increased their velocity, however it hasn't changed. Also, how can a guy have Good Pitching Sessions and lose velocity in the same? It doesn't quite make sense to me... Plus, what do these good sesssions and bad sessions actually affect? I haven't seen any difference at all. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to find an old spring training report, but I couldn't so I guess you can just look at them right after running ST and then they're gone. However, I'll still try to help.

Hmm, is it possibly his talent or rating has changed, but you are looking at the other? Perhaps it changed slightly, but not enough for it show. As in, it changed by a fraction or decimal, but in the game we only see an integer.

Also, how can a guy have Good Pitching Sessions and lose velocity in the same?

Perhaps he has gotten better in other ways, movement, control, etc.

It doesn't quite make sense to me... Plus, what do these good sesssions and bad sessions actually affect?

Like I said, I'm not sure if it's either their talent (potential) or ratings (current ability) or both. I know both can change as seen in the BOSI development report [ http://www.ootp-leagues.com/bosi/pla...op.php?tid=162 ], but the OOTP generated reports I'm not sure. I'm sure it eventually does have some effect though.

I haven't seen any difference at all. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. [/B]

I think the key is that OOTP does not include all player development, only a small sample. As evidence, if you have BOSI tracking your league and you compare its player development report with OOTP's then you will find that OOTP is missing so many changes. I assume the same is probably true for the ST reports. Perhaps this missing info is throwing you off.

Many of us have expressed that we want OOTP to list all the changes. Hopefully we will get our wish in OOTP6.

Hopefully...it's a very tedious task to compare all of my players in my old league file to the new website...although I do it every sim anyway...
