Cubs/Marlins Playoff Update

Back by popular demand, it's anotherplayoff update thread.

Hopefully, this one will generate the same interest that the Cubs/Braves update enjoyed.

Of course, I expect the usual crowd to ignore this thread. And they know who they are.

Anyway, tonight is Game 1 of the National League Championship Series, featuring the Chicago Cubs (88-74)
and the Florida Marlins (91-71)

Carlos Zambrano 13-11 3.11 ERA
vs.
Josh Beckett 9-8 3.04 ERA

It looks to be a great series for those of you that aren't angered by the fact that the two teams, (out of the four playoff teams in the postseason), that are playing in the NLCS have the two worst records.

Oh well. That's baseball, eh?

Go Cubs!!

Let me be the first to say GO MARLINS. But if the Cubs win, I won't be upset for long.

I know this is a baseball board and all but in general do y'all feel that there is more excitement about this postseason than in recent years?

Probably has something to do witht the media markets of Boston and Chicago.

Go someone!

You'll get plenty of chances to as much as they reshow it.

Well, for me, this is the first time a team that I cheer for (the Cubs) is in the playoffs, so that's why there is more excitement on my part. And, as for the other series, the games are so exciting as a baseball fan, you have to be excited about the playoffs this season. Marlins/Cubs (Back to the Future, anyone? Cubs win the World Series... against Miami?) and Yankees/Red Sox... It's the best playoffs I can remember.

I like both teams so I won't be disappointed with whoever wins. I do think the Marlins will win and I think I'll also be rooting for their players, but at the same time I think I'll be rooting for Cubs fans.

Dude, that World Series isn't supposed to happen until 2015. You're getting waaaaaaaayyy ahead of yourself.

Go Cubbies.

If the Marlins win, it will because Aramis Rameriez cannot field Juan Pierre's and Luis Castillo's bunts.
