Designated for Assignment

I seem to be having issues trying to add a player to the active roster from the DFA list.
I place him on the active roster after picking him up from the player search list and adding him to the team.
If I exit the game of go look for more players in the search for players screen I come back to the team and he is back on DFA list.
How do I keep a player on the roster. This is very frustrating.
These are teams I don't directly manage.
Thanks
Let me know if you need more info.

You are adding the player to the roster while you have temporary control of the team. When you leave that the computer manager is in control again and doesn't agree with your decision.

The way to fix this is to get rid of the reason the computer manager thinks you're wrong. Note this doesn't mean that you're wrong, only that the computer manager thinks you are.

I had a situation where a team was carrying only one catcher. I called up another catcher and the computer manager demoted him. The issue was the team had 13 or 14 pitchers, I think it was, none with minor league options. It would not cut any of them loose.

I shopped several of them and got players with minor league options in trade. Then I brought up the second catcher and the computer manager let him stay.

What exactly do you mean by this?

If you don't normally control them, of course the computer manager is going to do what they see fit after you're done.

If you mean you're "acting as", you should check your manager options to make sure you don't have it set so the AI is controlling these actions.

Yeah I think I solved this.
I changed it to NOT allow AI to make roster changes.
I think the way I am playing it this will work.
Thanks

Does that mean the computer manager can't send a player to the injured list and call up a replacement?

Well I still have injuries checked. So I am allowing injuries. I think that is a check box. Not sure about bringing someone up. I'll have to see what it does.
