Joe Buck in the MLB Hall of Fame
Joe Buck will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2026.
I don't have the words. To put someone in who admits doesn't even really like baseball. I am losing all respect for the HoF. To have the human being with the most hits in MLB history not in there, the human being with the most Home Runs not in there, but then have in there a human being who admits he doesn't even like baseball is just... well there are no words. Screw you Joe. Your father belongs there, you don't. Baseball is the best sport on the planet. If you don't understand that, too bad. But if you disagree with it to the extent that you say you don't even like it... you don't belong in their Hall of Fame.

I agree. I thought that was a bizarre choice. Like how could you possibly have him over either of Buck Martinez or Dan Shulman? We're so fortunate having those two.

I lived about a mile from "J. Bucks" restaurant. There were two in the St. Louis area.
As you came into the restaurant, there was a bas relief of JACK Buck, behind the camera. Joe Bucks picture was nowhere to be seen. This was at least ten years ago. I have a friend of the Buck's family that said that Mrs. Buck, JACK'S widow (and Joe's mom) was irate that Joe Buck would try to capitalize on her dead husband's image and likeness. There was quite the stink here in the St. Louis area. Locally, the three most beloved sports figures, at the time, were Jack Buck, Willie McGee, and Whitey Herzog. Throw Ozzie in there, as well. The GOOD news is that both of the restaurants were over priced, poor food, and THE most arrogant POS to ever roam a sports booth as the owner. I met Joe Buck exactly once, when I reminded him of his comment about weather forecasters, and ALSO reminded him that he bombed out of college. It was GLORIOUS...as the little bastard wasn't going to do a damned thing about it. |
