Please developers, answer my question!
I would appreciate a response from someone knowledgeable.
I like playing out my games in 3D, and I take control of everything, including PBP, but sometimes I like to skip to RISP. The question is, will my players perform according to the strategy settings I have set before the game, or my staff takes over and tells them what to do when I'm skipping? To simplify the question: Is there a scenario in which strategy settings have an effect when playing out games in 3D? |

The game plays out as if your bench coaches, etc. are running things, with the caveat that if you set sliders, etc. they will adhere to those settings instead / above and beyond what you put in, depending on how you’ve set them up. Strategy will even play out if you’re watching in 3D if you have your coaches running some/all of them as well. I have basically all managerial decisions except substitutions set for the AI to control and I can see with my own eyes that it will steal/bunt/etc at roughly the same rate as IRL. The poster above noticed that BBRef has a bunch of Project Scoresheet stats that the game doesn’t track and which I agree would be cool to have; however, saying that because we don’t have data on bequeathed runners scored and steal rates on steals of 3rd base, we “don’t know” is absurd. If you give it up to the AI to coach against itself, if you’re adjusting LTMs every year things will come out looking like real life.

Haiku, calling for a response for a particular person or group of people is rude. Everyone, included devs, posts here with no obligation to do so. And by specifying response from a particular person or group you're making a pre-judgement about who knows and who doesn't. People who know may say to themselves "He's excluded me so I won't even read the post."

We don't always answer if we've already essentially answered the same question before.
