Talk about precision...

...I just noticed (and then went and checked previous versions) that certain statistics, while traditionally shown to 3 decimal places, are being presented to the 4th decimal place in the Season & Career Records.

<see attached screenshot>

THIS IS NOT A GRIPE!

I am just curious as to why there would be a decision that certain statistics, historically presented to the 1/1,000th, would be shown to the 1/10,000th in this place.

I know there are others that are showing to the 1/100th that generally only show to the 1/10th (WAR, for instance, or any per-9-IP stat), so I guess that's related...just seems a bit odd, looking at it that...precisely. Winning percentage, on the other hand, retains its usual to-the-thousandth reporting.

Generally speaking, on career leaderboards, an extra decimal place is used to help break ties and just give a little more precision on the mark.

OK, I like that, insofar is if you are only displaying ONE name, it looks a bit odd, but if you go to the lifetime / career leaders list, having that extra digit is a great thing to see.

Thanks, Matt!

So you're gonna add that extra digit of precision on batting average and not homeruns? smdh anti-HR bias
