Player Ratings (Transferring save from OOTP 22 to 23

I have noticed a change in some of my player ratings in a save I transferred from OOTP22 to OOTP23. Can someone provide some insight?

possibly re-scouted?

could turn on comissioner for a second and compare a couple player's ratings in each saved game before and after the export. if there are changes.

double check settings that could change what you see - sometimes just a facade, sometimes with real impacts (historical rating calculation choices?)... just in case.

Do you mind providing some screenshots?

are there specific ratings that you are seeing? It was mentioned during launch that changes were made to movement, which in some cases would result in different talent ratings (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...94&postcount=2)

It’s a possible rabbithole, but I am going to compare ratings within sims that I transferred from 22 to 23. I think that the ratings have changed; although the changes I think I am seeing are subtle, with one exception.

Would 23 override any manual changes that I made in 22? (I adjusted Scott Kingery to reflect his productive 2019 season, and to disregard the bottom dropping out since then.) He seems to be back to low ratings, perhaps based on my 50/25/15/10 approach (or 50/35/0/15 to discount 2020).

The one rating that I know was "changed", although I think this was still done behind the scenes, is that Movement now explicitly incorporates flyball rate. Otherwise, positions now have a "potential" rating based on how good the player will be once fully trained there, and other than that the game just copies in the ratings on a 1:1 basis so any discrepancies you're seeing would be due to scouting.

By all means though, check the editor; maybe they did something. That's not been my experience - I pushed over a 22 save in the middle of the season, even, and everyone seems to be playing the way they did before (with the exception of steals being high-ish for around a month of the season, which was done partially because I manually goosed the LTMs for them upwards... I then manually compared the 22 stats with the 23 stats and everything else was within 10%).

No, I have the near latest update 23.5.70

Here are a couple examples (OOTP23 top, OOTP22 bottom):

There could also have been some slight changes to how relative ratings are determined. Those rating changes you are showing are pretty minor so I wouldn't consider that to be unexpected (and are likely actually the same in the editor).

Yes, if you have relative ratings on, or scouting on, all scouting reports get recalculated on upgrade, and the algorithms for how those determine the ratings would have changed.

Movement is the only rating if I recall that would show a difference if you are using 100% accuracy or have scouting disabled, due to the new calculation for that. The raw components for that didn't change, and for the vast majority of players, they will end up with movements ratings under the new system very similar to before. But players on the extremes (extreme GB/extreme FB, or players with extreme values in their raw movement rating), may show larger changes.

Yeah, checked the editor and nearly identical - 1 pt off in control for Luzardo. Just found it interesting. It is that color change from yellow to green and green to blue that probably triggered it. Also, Another one of my players went down who was battling Vilade for that last roster spot and inched me closer to that decision to keep Vilade on the 26.
