Delete league from 22 after importing to 23?

I've got a league that's run 25 years which I've saved with almanacs and is taking up a ton of space on my hard drive. Imported it into 23 from 22 (which took about four hours) and I need the HD space. Am I OK go into 22 and delete the league there? I don't really have any custom stuff I created so there's no concern in that regard.

The league in 23 stands on its own. The game will never refer back to the 22 league, so you can delete it without fear of complications.

You really should back it up before deleting the main file. You never know what might happen. And only 25 years and it got so big? You must have saved EVERYTHING.

Yeah, as clean as things look right now for the most part, I’d advise at least making a backup of that 22 save before deleting it altogether.

Oh yeah, I backed it up. I'm a compulsive data hoarder so I had full almanacs with box scores at all levels and everything, even though I rarely go back to look at them. (And since I chronicle the save in the dynasty forum, I usually just go back and look at my earlier posts if I'm curious about something that happened seasons earlier).

I did clear about 70GB off the hard drive when I deleted it.

I have a 60 team league in year 136 and the import took less than 3 minutes for me.

"data hoarder so I had full almanacs with box scores at all levels and everything" Explains a lot. The only almanac I have is the one I created to save my game data from v4- v6.5 and move that folder to the new computer when I upgrade. I don't think I've looked at it in the last 10 years but, it is there.

I think, in the past, others posted about leaving their import run overnight because of huge almanacs.

Compulsive Data Hoarder?

Yeah, I'm a bit compulsive as well. Thinking about seeing who wants to be the repository of history. Beyond this, I've got an old dual layer DVD with QS and other crap from back around 6.5 or 7.

I also have a complete run of years of paperback Baseball Guides (Sp. News, Reach, a couple others) from the late 20's until '07 or so, as well as a bunch of Baseball Registers. Takes up 2 27 gallon totes.

That's quite a bit Ty Cobb. But disk space is cheap so good for you!

Instead of making Almanacs(which also take a long time to make) I will copy the league file after every season and that will keep everything. I'm not sure if it saves space on my hard drive compared to the Almanacs but I am sure it takes less time to copy the league file.
