What (newfangled) stats do you use on player display/views?

When it comes to baseball stats, despite loving things like The Book and being an early sabermetrics fan in the 90s, I still kind of operate in a paradigm of old school counting stats in OOTP.

For the folks who are super into launch angles and statcast, what stats are you using on your player screens to display that give you the best info on your particular players?

I'm trying to modernize my views, especially in OOTP23 with the additional stats we have now. Let's hear it.

For hitters, the big ones for me are WAR, wRC+, triple slashline, HRs, K%, BB%, BABIP.
For pitchers, IP, WAR, rWAR, ERA, FIP, xFIP, BABIP, K%, BB%, HR/9, GO%, and IRS%.

Then for both my far-right column is WPA, not so much for predictive value but for narrative value.

Here's my views for pitching and line-ups. Player card views are similar.

Thanks for the view screenshots Bluenoser. Very helpful and easier for me to reapply to my game.

I like threads like this to learn what others are doing and maybe incorporate it into my game.
I'm just starting to get into some of these the last couple years.

Good example by Bluenoser in the pitchview Jim Cooke 9-4 3.22 era 1.07 whip and Calvin Morel 4-5 3.20 era 1.29 whip.
In the past I would have thought Cooke was having a good season and move on but looking at FIP ,FIP- and ERA+ all of a sudden Morel is actually having just as good a season, just not getting the wins.

One thing I struggle with is having too many of the new stats can be confusing and seem to contradict each other. For example babip Morel is .326 compared to Cooke's .250. and rwar which I haven't looked into and war also seem to not make sense.

Likely has to do with sample size. Only 16 games played. But ya, took me a while to wrap my head around a lot of these stats. I still have to reference some of them at FanGraphs occasionally

Oh wow. I totally forgot about customizing statistics views. I had several views saved in OOTP22. Now I need to remember how to customize them and save new ones in 23.

You can copy your views over from 22.

Copy n paste the Tables folder from 22 to 23.

Then copy the user.db file over to 23.

All your views will be in 23.

For pitchers lately I've been zeroing in on BB/9 and K/9. For hitters it's hard to get my eyes away from the 3 main average numbers; need to look at OPS+ more.

Two ways to use stats --

1. Insert stat you heard is good (eg WAR etc). Click on column header to sort. Prefer players at top of column. This is likely the safest, easiest and sanist route. I use this mostly.

2. Otherwise, ponderously philosophical rabbit holes await.... (but what is WAR? What is the essence of WAR? What is the true essence of WAR??)

And I GM wrong according to the OP.

Same, this is my issue with the newer stats is trying to eyeball who is having a solid season and who is better especially in leagues where the ratings are kinda even and it can be hard to differentiate between players, the counting stats make this easy.

wRC+ is my "One stat, at a glance" for hitters. For pitchers usually K%-BB%, but sometimes something like FIP or xFIP.
