Are Player Profile Photos in OOTP23 better than OOTP24?
Someone posted in a recent thread here on the Mods Forum that player photos in OOTP23 are better than OOTP24... you see more details in OOTP23.
He said he prefers the old templates. He posted photos and I agreed with him... you can see the stripes on the sleeves and you can see any images on the sleeves. What do you graphics guys think? Is there a noticeable difference between OOTP24 (on left) and OOTP23 (on right)? Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-24-2023 at 08:08 PM. |

I believe that is actually a product of the different jersey models/templates being used. I still use the old 'classic' model and my profile picture looks more similar to the one on the right. might want to check that with the OP

OOTP 23 started using the new format and continues in OOTP 24... OOTP 22 was the last version to use the old format for the jerseys... So 23 and 24 are gonna look the same using the new jersey format...

Correct but if I use the "old" model in 23 and 24, my profile picture looks more like the one on the right. So I wonder if the OP is using 2 different models between versions and doesn't realize it?

It's not the game version that makes the difference, it's the jersey format that gives the different "look"...

Probably just me but the slope of the shoulders/arms on the new format really bugs me. The arms are too vertical. Looks awkward, at least to me.
The white in the uniforms also seems too bright. |

Eye of the beholder on what looks better.
I'll take v23 and v24 new style of jerseys every time. Crisper look IMHO on the player page, news, etc., and when playing out a game the difference becomes even more noticeable. |

I prefer the look of the 'old' jersey template in the player profile and various news pages but wish I could have the right format for the ingame 3D engine.

I added a poll since most people seem to prefer the old jersey format and I find polls help threads get more attention.
I honestly never noticed the difference until I saw it pointed out here. I guess it must have to do with my resolution, but in my game I don't see much of the chest, just the top button and up. I see some disagree, but I kind of like the clean white look of the new jerseys, but I agree the shoulders / upper arms in the opening post look bad, really bad. Quote:

I find the old format jerseys work fine in the game except when you zoom in a lot in the 3D animation.
I don't use the dynamic action camera and don't zoom in very close... so my old jerseys look fine in the game and my player profile photos look good, too... especially if you set the view to show more of the jerseys. The shoulder emlems in the old format get greatly increased in size in the latest versions of the game with the new jersey format. |

It is a proportion thing. The main issue is the jersey is not long enough...there is a seem that runs a bit above the waist...as if the texture is not long enough and the game is rendering a duplicate layer to fill in the gap.
You won't see it unless you are zoomed in.
