To Steam or Not To Steam...
Background: Our league has run weekly simulations in the past and only in the last couple years transitioned from DMB to OOTP. I'm running simulations for our league this year and we'll be moving to daily simulations.
Questions: 1. Steam can be set to autoupdate...if I go that route, will roster updates submitted prior to the autoupdate still import properly for the simulation? 2. If I turn autoupdate off (or just pre-order and don't use Steam), will roster updates from users on updated versions communicate with my older version? TIA! |

I think if you're using a more recently updated version, updates from previous versions ought to work. There's always that chance that the devs made a change to the export file in a particular iteration though and so it's usually ideal to set it up so that everyone updates at the same time, which you can handle by everyone in your league using Steam or having you as the commissioner go out and manually get the (non-Steam) update as soon as it comes out and then announce to your league that they need to install it.
For the second bit, don't roster updates usually not apply to current saves?
