i don't see where he played catcher either. from what i see he was only in minors a year and it wasn't at catcher according Baseball reference.

and i have 3 good catcher so i must used him as 2nd baseman, with 20 defense even Jimmy Foxx he is rate only as catcher but he catch only 2 years before getting transfered to 3rd base

Experiment with different settings to get what you want. Or maybe its closer to what you want.

Development on and recalc off uses the development engine based on a players initial ratings. This means a 2B may become a 3B but a CF won't become a SS even if they did real life.

Development on or off and recalc with ratings based whole career gives a player all the positions he played but often with poor ratings at all.

Developmnet on or off and recalc with ratings based on three years will have a player progress through positions historically played with position ratings based on historical performance for the years he played.

In all situations its possible to train a player to play a similar position within his group. The groups are C, IF, OF.

The best choice I've found in development on, recalc on, base ratings on three year window. Its not perfect but you may like it. An explanation of the detriments is here.

If so that's just some sort of game error. Change is position to whatever he can play.

because i have 4 good catcher i know all that but simulation should be realistic

Baseball Ref has him listed as a catcher in 1926 with New Haven, which is why he has those ratings in-game (and likely also because you are probably using the historical minors in-game).

Now, it's possible that's an error. We're currently discussing and looking into that. If we determine that's the case, we'll fix that for next year.
