PBP audio?

Will there be Audio PBP commentary, NOT JUST SOUND EFFECTS in OOTP 6?

Someone made something like that awhile back. I thought it was pretty cool. It only read game logs if I recall correctly, but it was still pretty impressive. I'd be surprised if it made it into OOTP6, but it would be a very neat treat if done well.

I wouldn't count on it.

I think it would be cool. But people would rip into it once they started hearing phrases repeated numerous times. Once less headache for Team OOTP that isn't necessary.

I know that it can be done using the Microsoft Narrarator (through tweaking of course), but it sounds kinda funny when your announcer says, "And Pitching for for Philadelphia Phillies, Visentie Padilllla."

It's a shame that the Nararator doesn't know Spanish. ....poor Vicente Padilla.

I've always dreamed about technology in the (distant) future that would be able to make OOTP sound like listening to a game on the radio. Name pronunciations would be a problem, but in the player editor you could have an attribute for phonetic spelling (like "Miller" Bill Mueller, or "Sosha" for Mike Scioscia). There would be other issues with the current PBP setup, like hearing Two-B (2B) instead of second baseman. Not something we're likely to see soon, but maybe someday!

It would be cool if they could make it fade and crackle like it's on the AM band. And you would have to tune in very carefully to catch the faint whisper of games over 1,500 miles away.

Old Time baseball used to have PBP audio with either Curt Gowdy or Mel Allen doing the game.

It was a shame the creators didn't keep up with that PC game because it had such promise. All the players for each team going back to the 1800's. Playing games in nice reproductions of the oldtime parks.

Ok so the "players" were anonymous little guys running around but the sim wasn't that bad. And the results accurate enough.

Didn't the old Earl Weaver Baseball on the Amiga have phonetic pronounciations you could use to have the announcer use them???
