So this is tanking?

I see others going with different themes, and decided to do the same. I got promoted to Diamond last season, and have quickly decided it's not for me. Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of seeing Greg Maddux beat Greg Maddux. Oh BTW, my Ichiro got 2 dbls and a triple, yours only got 2 dbls.

Unless you have mostly all perfects, you are just hanging around. I had 4 perfects and mostly Diamonds, a lot of them from the Live Missions. Looking at the competition, I don't have a chance unless I'm willing to spend moocho PP for a lot of perfects.

Well , that doesn't interest me so I decided I was going to get rid of all my perfects and diamonds that weren't locked and play only Golds. So I guess I messed up by deciding to do that and have now been warned for tanking and if my lineup is not restored to competitive within 24 hrs I'm gone.

Well, I can't restore to competitive as was, I sold the cards or they're in the Auction House.

I messed up, it's on me. I accept full responsibility for my actions I thought I could switch and do a theme of only playing Gold Cards. My bad, so sorry.



Please understand, this is not a gripe. Just want to explain what I did wrong. It's my first year playing PT, I only play 1 team and I'm just having a bit of fun with it. I got fooled early on into thinking that I could be competitive at the higher levels with all those nice live missions, and went for it. That was a learning experience for me.

You could cancel the one's in the AH if they haven't sold or had a bid yet.

Nope - just got an email warning.

It's no big deal, games are nothing more than entertainment. I was trying to find another way to be entertained in PT, my first method wasn't working out very well

I understand too. I made playoffs last year, lost out in finals, got promoted & now with same team I started out 6-14 with the arrow pointed straight down. I have ZERO chance to even finish .500 ball so I'll just Yo-Yo up and down. It's crazy when sometime you'll play against JOHNSON, MADDUX, JOHNSON, MADDUX, MADDUX, JOHNSON...Quite often me and the team I'm playing will field one player away from having exact starting 9. They ask for suggestions. I've suggested a minimum of 10 players & none have been put out. I'm talking about real good seasons for these players. I play 1 of my teams just White Sox players & when all they put out are majority Gold or Silver Cards I buy them, but I'm a.500 or sub .500 team when I get to GOLD. with highest card being a 95. I have requested several cards that could be 99 to 100 but ...nah....you get 82 pitching GOLD card or some 68 rated trash cards which I still buy (just to have) that struggles in Gold leagues..Get so boring......I'm just about done...I mean make the cards..we will BUY...how simple can that be? No competitive additions

It's easy to say "well he has more black borders than me, I have no chance". That way, you don't have to accept that a deep dive into the game engine, teambuilding, roster construction, and so on can build a really strong roster with few or zero perfects required. But there are a lot of F2P teams, many with really cheap team costs, who have been successful. By contrast, a league I was in a few weeks ago saw like 6 teams with 10+ historical perfects go <.500 because the rest of the league and its mostly-diamond teams were really well constructed.

If you want to explore making a good team, I would pick a set of park factors and really commit your entire roster to building around those. That can make you competitive with anyone-- I was in PL last week and put up a respectable 76-86 record using just 2 perfects: SE Yogi at the start of the week and 100 CL Lee Smith (who was fine but not especially elite) picked up midweek. There is more to PT than looking at shiny high rarity stuff and thinking that will win your games.

If ever you get a warning and feel it may have been in error, feel free to respond to the email and it will go to someone on the moderation team and we can dive deeper into the situation.

I don't much care to air my dirty laundry on public forums, however when I receive an email that has no reply (cannot be replied to) I have little choice but to come to the forum.

I would have gladly replied to the email were it possible.

Some tankers put their cards on the AH for exorbitantly high prices so that people won’t see those cards on their reserve roster when they’re reported.

Speaking of the Dinos, they're in Silver .282 this week. Doing the same thing they've been doing in recent weeks: tanking. Team ERA is 9.69 (nearly 4 runs higher than the next worst team). I'd like to take the moderation team at their word. I'd like to believe they've made a good faith effort to ban tankers. But that ship has sailed.

All i know, is that the email accepts replies, above my pay grade as to the circumstances. (I dont think it explicitly says "do not reply" but i believe the email is noreply@ootp...)

There might be an internal issue on this one, I have the dev team looking into it as we speak

Can confirm, the NC Dinos team in Silver .282 is not the same team this thread was previously talking about

Edit....not this thread...the other thread...you know what I mean. There are several NC Dinos teams in the game and several of them have infractions on their record it would seem

I think perhaps there was some confusion in the other thread because users were talking about multiple NC Dinos named teams which were reported around the same time frame but were actually different teams
